1. Rental Period and Use The rental period begins and ends at the dates and times mutually agreed upon by both parties. The Renter may not extend the rental period without prior written consent from the Owner. Unauthorized late returns will incur additional hourly charges. 2. Rates and Payment Rental rates are as agreed upon in writing or digital correspondence before the start of the rental. Full payment, including the security deposit, is due prior to the release of the vessel. 3. Cancellations and Refunds Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours in advance to receive a full refund. Cancellations within 48 hours of the rental period start time may result in forfeiture of up to 50% of the rental fee, at the Owner’s discretion. No-shows forfeit the full rental amount. 4. Weather and Unsafe Conditions If the National Weather Service issues a Small Craft Advisory, Gale Warning, or similar alert during the scheduled rental period, or if conditions involve sustained winds exceeding 25 mph, lightning, dense fog, or other hazards rendering operation unsafe, the Owner may delay, reschedule, or cancel the rental without penalty to either party. Renter cancellations for reasons other than documented unsafe conditions are subject to the standard cancellation policy. 5. Fueling Policy The boat is provided with a full tank of fuel. The Renter must return the vessel with a full tank unless otherwise agreed upon in writing. Failure to do so will result in a refueling charge at the prevailing rate. 5. Cleaning and Condition The vessel must be returned in clean condition, free of trash and debris. Excessive cleaning will result in a cleaning fee deducted from the security deposit. 6. Restricted Activities The following are strictly prohibited: - Operating the vessel under the influence of alcohol or drugs. - Nighttime operation (after official sunset or before sunrise). - Operating outside of authorized waterways (Potomac River and Chesapeake Bay regions). - Allowing unauthorized persons to operate the vessel. - Beaching, grounding, or reckless towing activity. 7. Mechanical or Safety Issues The Renter must immediately report any mechanical problems, damage, or safety concerns to the Owner. Continuing to operate the vessel after an issue arises may result in full responsibility for subsequent damages. 8. Termination of Agreement The Owner reserves the right to terminate the rental without refund if the Renter violates any terms of this Agreement or operates the vessel in an unsafe or illegal manner.
