Pacific White Sided Dolphin, known for their acrobatics Experience unparalleled Whale Watching on British Columbia's central and north coast, take part in research and meet biologists that are studying these magnificent cetaceans. On board our ship each day, guests will become involved, if they wish, in the sighting and identification of the Humpback Whales that are being studied. Days will primarily be spent on the water, in the comfort of the ship, watching the many behaviours of the Humpbacks as they travel, feed, and interact. What To Expect Onboard: Our ship, Great Bear II is equipped with all the latest navigation equipment as well as our 16 foot Zodiac for tours and excursions off the ship, and kayaks to enjoy the serenity of our coastal anchorages. Our 54 foot ship, Great Bear II offers unparalleled comfort and privacy as you experience B.C.'s most remote and spectacular settings. The spacious layout and warmth of her wood interiors, can only be outdone by the magnificent views from her salon, pilothouse and outside decks. Due to Great Bear II's spacious and comfortable interiors, we are now able to offer trips on the south coast more year around.

Our company is owned and operated by Captain Eric. Eric has been exploring and working on the coasts of B.C. and Alaska for over 35 years. He also has logged experience as a Captain in the Caribbean and the Sea of Cortez. As Captain, Eric is certified by Transport Canada. Helping Eric with the running of the company, marketing, and trip reservations, is Eric's longtime partner and wife, Trish. After having grown up on cattle ranches in B.C.'s interior, Trish now calls the coast her home and is passionate about the preservation of its wildlife and intact rainforests.
