2-Night River Cruise (Bangkok - Ayutthaya)

River Cruise

About This Sleep Aboard Boat

There is no better way to witness the traditional way of life of Thais than by cruising along the legendary Chao Phraya River (River of Kings). During the course of a three-day cruise on the Mekhala, you will travel back in time as you view the rich history of Thailand.

Offering a river cruise on the Chao Phraya River between Bangkok and the World Heritage city of Ayutthaya, the Mekhala is a collection of three elegantly restored, beautifully crafted rice barges. The barges provide the setting for overnight journeys – retracing the paths of former royal processions. Your journey on the Mekhala starts in Bangkok where you will cruise upstream to the former Siamese capital of Ayutthaya. Visit a local market, an ethnic Mon community, a Royal Summer Palace and an old village famous for pottery making and traditional Thai dessert along the way.

There are 6 cabins, promising you an unparalleled sense of intimacy. The cabins come with air-conditioning and private bathroom.
