For Captain Ed Cardinali, a lifetime of adventure turned into a family-run boating business business that has been making waves in the Boston Harbor since 2019.

With a career that spans aviation, outdoor adventure, and maritime tourism, Captain Ed’s story is one of passion, resilience, and a love for sharing unique experiences.

He and his wife, Rosie, have dedicated themselves to creating a welcoming and fun atmosphere aboard Cycleboat Boston, where guests can take in the stunning waterfront views while enjoying a one-of-a-kind adventure.

A Lifetime of Adventure on Land, Sea, and Sky

Captain Ed’s journey to running Cycleboat Boston is anything but ordinary. Before launching his business, he spent 40 years as an international airline captain, flying military missions into Vietnam and the Gulf War, for which he was awarded an Air Medal. His career took him across the globe, but his love for adventure extended beyond aviation. In his spare time, he built a campground and hot air balloon center in Maine, where he guided canoe and kayak tours and even trained hot air balloon pilots.

After retiring from the airline industry, Ed quickly realized that a quiet retirement wasn’t for him. He obtained his marine master’s license, and with Rosie’s help, launched Cycleboat Boston right in their own neighborhood at the Charlestown Navy Yard.

Today, he brings a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm to every tour he leads, ensuring each trip is both exciting and safe.
