What to Expect Onboard:

These are not Grandma's boats. Powered by the famous and quiet and fast Yamaha 4 stroke 150 HP outboards, which are almost silent and very easy on fuel. There is live bait at our marina, along with all the fishing gear and all the tall fishing tales you can handle. For maximum comfort we recommend eight or nine plus a couple kids. Because these are outboard powered these boats require only a couple feet of water to be operated in and can be easily beached for a walk ashore or a picnic up on North Captiva, a pristine island with no roads, cars, or very many people. We'll show you how to get there safely.

Rental Requirements

Boat Rental Terms & Conditions:

The renter must have been born before 1/1/88 or have completed a NASBL approved boater safety course with card or certificate and possess a valid driver's license.

A complete orientation is required by the State of Florida, the insurance company and the owner before a boat may be rented out. This is done on board with the boat underway, with emphasis on “hands-on”, focusing on safety as well as local knowledge, navigation and boating laws. The exception is only if you possess a "valid" Captain's license issued by the U.S. Coast Guard.

Orientation entails 1 to 2 hours with our USCG Captain and is imperative for your personal safety and the safety of your passengers. Once you have completed the orientation you will not be required to take another orientation in the future. At the end of the day you will know more than many local boaters! Orientation fee for 1st time renters is $200.00.

Additional Boat Rental Costs and Information:

All U.S. Coast Guard required safety equipment is on board plus a First Aid kit, Marine GPS unit, fish finder/depth finder, two anchors, fenders, lines and local charts.

Add $200.00 Captains orientation fee for all 1st time renters to all daily rental prices.

We decided to rent a boat on short notice, which is not that easy during high season. And we do not have any boating experience at all so we preferred to rent a boat including a skipper. We wanted to find out, if our children (13 and 16) like boating and we also did not want to waste too much time with preparations, training and finding the right places to go to. Fortunately Jamie responded very quickly, having a boat available including Captain Sam. Captain Sam is a very friendly, amicable man with lots of experience in boating. He knows the canals and the gulf like the back of his hands. We had a wonderful day with him. He brought us to a lonely beach to collect shells. Our boys really enjoyed this place and almost did not want to continue the trip. We fond lots of beautiful shells, way better than at the public beaches. Then we went to a nice but unpretentious restaurant at the beachside for having lunch. Simple and delicious. When possible he handed over the command to Captain Moritz and Captain Felix, our boys. The smile on their faces was proof that they really liked it. In between our ride Captain Sam quite often spotted some dolphins and slowed down so that we had time enough to observe these wonderful animals. And he explained pretty much about fishing and wildlife to us. A really wonderful day and an even more awesome man. Thank you very much, Captain Sam and stay well. Werner, Heike, Moritz & Felix.
