Sightseeing for $50 per person/day in Kathmandu, Central Region! “Glimpses of Nepal” allows you to discover the daily life of Nepalese people along with their culture, religion, tradition and more. We enjoy visiting the main historical as well as religious sites; there are many interesting places to discover and lots of other activities to do in and around Kathmandu Valley. The program also includes the visit of Chitwan National Park, the first National Park of Nepal with full of activities like elephant ride, jungle safari plus, the cultural dance of the ethnic group Tharu and there is also the possibility of doing the Safari by 4×4 drive. DAY 1: KATHMANDU (1300 M) (B) Welcome to Nepal! Upon your arrival in Kathmandu Airport, you’ll be met at the airport by our representative. There’s a short drive to the Gokarna Forest Resort, our peaceful haven on the outskirts of Kathmandu. This is your hotel base before and after trek. Your program on the hotel will be on Bed & breakfast plan. You’ll be served with welcome drink and will start briefing about your programs and collect necessary documents for permit for the trekking. Overnight at the Gokarna Forest Resort (27°43’35.61”N 85°23’53.37” E) We are located inside the serene temperate Gokarna Forest, the former private Royal hunting grounds of the Kings of Nepal. A winding road climbs leads through the forest up to the main complex, comprising a mix of subtly majestic Malla period architecture, Rana period lodges, and sanctuaries harmoniously blending with nature. Further on exotic Forest View cottage rooms are set beside a century old restored Hunter’s lodge. A quiet peaceful haven set between ancient towering trees with glimpses of the second fairway in the valley below make the perfect getaway for a few days of golf, relaxation and rejuvenation at the Spa, enchanting forest walks, and time close to nature. DAY 2: KATHMANDU (B) After enjoying a leisurely breakfast at the hotel, we’ll be met by our guide for our day trip to a few of the Kathmandu valley’s most spectacular and important sights and some vibrant, colourful markets. With a meld of three ancient capitals and their associated palaces, temples and markets of Kathmandu has a lot to offer culturally and historically. However, we’re mindful not to overload you so we will ensure the day has a good balance between sightseeing, exploring and relaxation time. The exact itinerary may change depending on the local conditions but we shall most likely visit: • Pashupatinath, one of the most important temples in South Asia to the Hindu God, Lord Shiva; • One of the three Durbar (Palace) Squares, a complex of palaces and temples which was formally the social, religious and administrative focal point of the ancient city • Boudhnnanath Stupa, a wonderful Buddhist site centred on a huge Stupa topped with the all-seeing eyes. If possible we’ll come here in the early evening to soak up the atmosphere of hundreds of Tibetan and Sherpa peoples walking their devotional khora Overnight at the Gokarna Forest Resort DAY 3: KATHMANDU TO BHAKTAPUR (1401 M) AND TO NAGARKOT (2195 M) (B, D) After the breakfast, we drive to Bhaktapur which is located at a distance of about 13 km east from the central Kathmandu. Bhaktapur Durbar Square is one of the three ancient royal cities of the Kathmandu Valley which has well preserved its medieval aspect till date and it is also best known for the wooden artifacts and the yogurt “Juju Dhau”. This ancient city is inhabited mostly by Newars mainly Hindus. After the visit, transfer to Nagarkot. Overnight at Hotel Country Villa DAY 4: NAGARKOT TO NAMO BUDDHA (1750 M) AND TO BALTHALI (2400 M) (B, L, D) Drive to Namo Buddha, we visit the monastery of Namo Buddha and its surrounding. There is a legend related to the Buddha, who cut all his body parts and gave them to the starving tigress along with her cubs. After the visit, we descend slowly down to Panauti. Visit the temple in Panauti and then head towards Balthali. Balthali neighborhood is covered by the flora, rhododendrons forest and Sal in the presence of several species of birds. 3hrs walk Overnight at Balthali Village Resort DAY 5: BALTHALI TO KATHMANDU AND TO CHITWAN (150 M) (B, L, D) After having breakfast, drive to Kathmandu domestic airport to catch a flight to Bharatpur. From Bharatpur airport, transfer to Kasara Resort. Upon our arrival in Resort, briefing about the afternoon activities. In the late afternoon, you will be taken for a jungle safari on elephant back so that you can penetrate deep into the jungle for viewing and photographing wildlife or a jungle walk is organized to experience the abundant bird life and the flora & fauna inside the park. If you are lucky, you may see the exclusive Royal Bengal tiger, one horn Rhinoceros, deers both on nature walk as well as on elephant safari. In the evening, Tharu cultural show programs will be presented to you. Tharus are the inhabitants of Terai. Overnight at Kasara Resort DAY 6: CHITWAN (B, L, D) | Today, we will do the rest of the programs like canoeing in the river (crocodile hunt), visit elephant breeding centre, jungle safari, bird watching and more. Overnight at Kasara Resort DAY 7: CHITWAN TO KATHMANDU (B) After the breakfast in the Resort, you will be transferred to the Bharatpur Airport and take a 30 minutes flight back to Kathmandu. On arrival in Kathmandu, we’ll transfer to the hotel. Then you’ve free time to relax or head into the city. We find most people want to simply unwind and enjoy the hotel facilities – whatever you choose, we’ll help! Overnight at the Gokarna Forest Resort DAY 8: KATHMANDU Final departure depending on your flight schedules.
