We offer Sea Kayaking Trips for adults and Coaching Courses for all abilities in the beautiful setting of Clew Bay on the West Coast of Ireland. Saoirse Na Mara is a mobile Seakayak company. Being flexible means that we can take advantage of the best of weather and tide conditions to bring you the ultimate West Coast Seakayaking experience! 1/2 Day Clew Bay Island Explorer (morning or afternoon) Take a trip at a leisurly pace among the myriad of islands in Clew Bay. By Seakayak you can get close to Seal Colonies and spectacular Birdlife on many of the uninhabited islands. Or when conditions are suitable explore Cliffs and Caves from water level. All trips are run with your comfort and safety in mind. We operate with small groups and guide to customer ratios of 1:6 or less- this means we can really tailor the tour to your needs. Full-Day Clew Bay Island Explorer Like the 1/2 day, but what's the rush? Why not have lunch on a quiet island beach- who could turn down freshly caught and fried mackeral? Take the opportunity to improve your paddling skills and safety knowledge as you go, with your qualified guide. Families Seakayaking is best suited to teens and older, but we can also take family groups where younger paddlers can share a super-stable double kayak with Mum or Dad. Ali is the owner of Ireland West Sea kayaking. He first sat in a kayak in 1986. Since then he has paddled in 25 countries worldwide, in expeditions and competitions. But whether he's on Himalayan whitewater or in a dugout on the Orinoco, there's nowhere like home, and the islands of the Mayo and Galway coast are always calling. He is a qualified level 4 instructor with the Irish Canoe Union and a member of the ICU panel, which trains and assesses new Instructors. He also holds the equivalent awards with the British Canoe Union. For a complete list of Ali's qualifications see below. He has competed internationally for Ireland in marathon, sprint, canoe polo, freestyle (World Championships '97, '99 & 2001) and surf (World Championships '97). In freestyle he competed on the North American and European circuits from 1998 to 2001. He has guided and instructed in on sea and rivers in Ireland, Wales and the French Alps, and has worked as a videographer and rescue boater for rafting companies in the USA, New Zealand, Uganda and Zambi.
