We just got back from a wonderful day on the water :) We bareboat chartered the Meteor. Captain Neal was able to be flexible on our timing since our original day was bad weather and he did not have many bookings around the same time. He made perfect suggestions regarding weather, currents, tides and routes to help us learn the area quickly and be able to navigate a beautiful day on Penobscot Bay. 100% we will be back again! Treat his boat well and Capt Neal will treat you well in return! Thanks so much for a wonderful day!
Born in Brooklyn New York in 1956, Captain Neal Parker started sailing the waters of New England as a teenager. Encouraged by early mentors, Parker became devoted to traditional sailing craft. He spent many years building ship models as well as working on full sized sailing vessels. Having acquired many years of experience Parker became a licensed captain by age 20. Since then he has skippered over a dozen schooners and traditional craft. In 1986 Captain Parker purchased and restored the 67-foot schooner Wendameen. Dedicating four years to her restoration, he placed the Wendameen into the Maine Windjammer business and sailed her from 1990 to 2004. After completion of the Wendameen, Captain Parker took up building and restoring ship models professionally for clients ranging from private collectors to galleries and museums. Captain Parker is also a published author whose books range from children's and young adult stories to volumes on maritime history. In April 2005 after a run of almost 20 years Capt Neal Parker sold his beloved schooner Wendameen. Besides continuing to sail in the summer he is devoting his time to ship model work, writing and being a full time father.

Charterer to provide show of sailing experience and will be asked to sign a bareboat charter agreement. The Meteor is to be operated daylight hours only. A day commences at 11am (no wind before that anyhow) and terminate at 5pm. Other time frames available by special arrangement. A chart is provided on board but a chart/gps app on phone or tablet will be required. There's a few I'd be happy to recommend. Though I will bring you to the boat in the morning if you decide to return before 5: you may need to use the local yacht club launch for a small fee. Please notify me if you decide to do this. In the event of fog, small craft advisories and other conditions not deemed safe for navigation charter will be cancelled by me with full refund. Please leave the boat as neat and clean as when you first came aboard.
