Rafting in Gorkha

The name of the river – Trishuli came from a famous pilgrimage destination called Gosaikunda, which lies high in the Himalaya. Here, Lord Shiva drove his trident into the rocky mountain to create three springs, these are the source of this river, hence its name. The river has fixed some truly impressive gorges in its lower part as it has cut its way through the 2000-meter high Mahavarat Range. R32;For many people this river represents the ideal rafting trip, just the right length of time, exciting rapids but not too technically difficult and it is easily reachable from Kathmandu. This trip is most definitely for you if you are looking for more of a ‘wilderness’ experience, unsullied beaches and un-spoilt scenery go without saying! The rapids on the Trishuli River are big and bouncy; it is possible to walk around some of the bigger rapids if you do not feel up for the challenge. We guarantee this trip will be memorable and above all, bags of fun! We leave Kathmandu at 8 am and drive approximately three hours to Charaundi, our put-in point. After the crew assembles the raft, they will explain the safety equipment and procedures. During the day, we run a number of rapids that rate to 2 to 3. All the rapids have been given Nepali and English names:  A Mosaic Adventure guide can relate the story behind each one. We stop for lunch on a remarkable, untouched beach covered in unique sculptured boulders. Shortly after lunch, we enter the Trishuli gorge. As the canyon narrows the walls becomes steep, the current accelerates and the rapids increase in size and frequency. This is the time to hang on! After such an exciting experience, it is surprising to see a Majhi (Fisherman) building his precarious traps in such turbulence. Our last rapid, Jholungepul named after the overhead suspension bridge, usually attracts an enthusiastic audience, they line the bridge excited to see us pass beneath. After an exhilarating day, we will drive you back to Kathmandu for a well-earned rest. If you have any questions, we can answer those through GetMyBoat’s messaging platform before you pay.
