1. Operator Requirements To operate the pontoon, renters must meet the applicable state requirements based on where the vessel will be used. For Ohio waters: - Renters must have boating experience and demonstrate knowledge of safe vessel operation, or - Possess a valid boater education certificate/license recognized by the State of Ohio, or - Be born before January 1, 1982, in which case you are grandfathered under state law and exempt from the education requirement. For Michigan waters: - Michigan does not require a boating license; however, anyone born on or after July 1, 1996 must hold a valid boating safety certificate issued by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR) or another approved agency. - Those born before July 1, 1996 are not required to have a certificate but must still demonstrate basic boating knowledge and safe operation. 2. Fuel Policy The boat must be returned with the same amount of fuel as at the start of your rental. - Renters may refill the tank themselves or elect to have us refill it for $35.00 per quarter tank used. - Fuel usage will be assessed in quarter-tank increments. - Unpaid refueling charges may result in additional fees. 3. Cleaning Responsibilities Renters are responsible for cleaning up after their rental. - Please remove all trash, food, beverages, and personal items before returning the boat. - Excessive cleaning or evidence of damage may result in an additional cleaning or repair fee. 4. Pickup & Return Location I am happy to meet you at your launch of choice between downtown Toledo and Erie, Michigan. - Alternate meeting points may be arranged in advance, subject to scheduling and availability. 5. What You May Bring You are welcome to bring: - Food and snacks - Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages - Coolers and personal items Please consume alcohol responsibly and comply with all boating and alcohol laws. Operating a boat while impaired is strictly prohibited. 6. Pre-Departure Orientation Upon your arrival, we will meet you at the boat to: - Provide a detailed walkthrough and safety orientation - Review operating procedures, navigation controls, and emergency protocols - Identify all U.S. Coast Guard–required safety equipment, including life jackets and flotation devices - Offer guidance on local waterways, safe zones, and recommended points of interest 7. Return Assistance Upon return, we will be present to assist with docking and conduct a brief post-rental inspection to ensure a safe and satisfactory experience. 8. Reservations & Contact Rental reservations are confirmed on a first-come, first-served basis. - We encourage early booking as seasonal availability fills quickly. - Once payment is received, we will contact you at the phone number provided to confirm your reservation and review details. g to confirm details and coordinate your trip.
