Enjoy Fishing In Koper, Slovenia With Captain Peter
Enjoy a memorable fishing trip in Koper, Slovenia aboard 23 feet Center Console for up to 5 people. Rate starts from €45 per person. Our boat comes with bait and fishing equipment. Rates: • Starts from: €45 per person (Half day) What You Can Expect: Fishing in the north Adriatic sea Fishing in the Slovenian part of the Gulf of Trieste compared to other waters is more relaxing because there are no strong currents or unreachable depths and, when the weather is nice, the sea is completely calm. This part of the sea is very special for a few reasons. It is very shallow; the average depth is 17m. This means that the temperature of the sea can reach up to +30°C in the summer and it can drop to around +5°C in the winter. These differences in temperature allow a lot of different species of fish to live in the area. We can say that we have two types of fishing, bluefin tuna in the spring and different species of sea bream, mackerel and horse mackerel in the summer time. In the colder part of the year, we can fish more for cuttlefish, Adriatic squid, whitings, conger… The types of fish here are also changing with time. In the last few years, we’ve even seen dolphins in the area. All Day Trip – All Inclusive Full day trip in the gulf of Trieste combines, fishing, history trip, swimming and gourmet indulgence – all of this in one day on the sea! We start in the morning from Koper or Izola, from where we go for some hours of fishing. The boat has in the front a nice padded surface, where can everybody who are not interested in fishing lie down, read a book while the fishermen are in the back catching some fish for the dinner. After fishing we eat a traditional Istrian dish (sardine na čvor) and we slowly go to visit the town of Muggia in the Italian side of the gulf. During the sail we have a beautiful view on the cliffs od the natural resort Debeli rtič and mussel farms. We park our boat in the town of Muggia, where we take a walk around to the castle where we have a lovely view. To refresh our self, we take an Italian homemade ice cream. The last part of the trip it consists of swimming and jumping in the water form anchored boat under the Strunjan’s cliffs od cliffs of Debeli rtic. Meanwhile you will be swimming or snorkeling we will grill for you the marinated chicken meat, cheese and fish (that you have caught in the morning) All of this we will toast with homemade white wine. My name is Peter and I will be your fishing guide, captain, professor of history and cook on board. I started fishing as a child and have grown up to be a passionate fisher and fishing teacher. In all these years, I have learned many different fishing techniques such as, egging (fishing for cuttlefish and squid), bollentino (bottom fishing from a boat), trolling, popping (heavy spin fishing for big predators) and fly fishing (in rivers). My passion for fishing has also influenced my education. I graduated from the University of Humanities with a degree called “Fishing history in Northern Istria from 13th to 18th century”. That is why I love to tell my guests about fishing history in Gulf of Trieste and take them to Muggia, Italy. Muggia is a classical Venetian old town with an interesting multicultural history that I like to share with anyone who joins me on my fishing trips.Every Monday, I teach kids how to fish on the town’s pier. This gives kids the opportunity to explore the sea and learn how to spend time outdoors, enjoying the fresh sea air.My greatest passion is to help my guests catch a nice fish or squid in our beautiful Slovenian sea.
