People come here to climb our Munkstigen via ferrata climbing path. People come here to rent boats to go fishing or diving. There are many marked hiking and biking paths with stunning view from here as well. In the late summer there is lots of berries and mushrooms to pick. Bicycles can be rented free of charge for people staying here one or more nights. Sea Fishing in the Trondheims frord The Trondheim fjord is the third-longest fjord of Norway with its length of 126 km. It serves as a natural boundary between northern and southern Norway. The Trondheim fjord branches into many smaller fjords, the largest being Orkdalsfjorden in the southwest, Strindfjorden and Åsenfjorden in the east, and Beitstadfjorden in the northeast. it also has some islands, of which Ytterøya, near its head, is the largest. The fjord is bordered by a narrow strip of rich agricultural land that quickly gives way to steep mountains. Trondheim the major export city for the area and the third largest city in Norway lies along the southern shore of the fjord. The fjord is at Its maximum depth is 617 meters (2,024 ft), just inside of Agdenes. On the way up the fjord, you pass Trondheim, Indre Fosen, Stjørdal, and Frosta before you reach the Innherred Region, with the cities of Levanger, Verdal, and Steinkjer at the top of the fjord. Trondheim Fjord has a rich marine life, with both southern and northern species; It has been observed over 140 species and at least 90 these are different species of fish. The fjord has the largest biological production among Norway’s fjords. In recent years, deep water corals (Lophelia pertusa) were discovered in the fjord, not far from Trondheim. Several of the best salmon rivers in Norway runs out in the Trondheim Fjord. These include the Gaula river, the Orkla river, the Stjørdal river, and the Verdal river. The most common fish species you will catch here in the fjord are cod, pollock, catfish, ling, haddock, plaice, whiting, dogfish, mackerel, sea Trout, salmon, redfish, monk-fish and halibut. Fresh Water Fishing On the mountain is possibilities of fishing for trout. You will get information and maps where to hike to find these lakes. The closest lakes are located approximately 1-2 hike from Hindrum Fjordsenter. Another possibility if you don’t care for long hikes is to take your car and drive to Storvatnet, a lake located approximately 30 min away by car. Of freshwater fish is mostly trout to catch, but it’s also possible to catch artic char. Diving The Trondheim fjorden has really clear water and its very nice to dive in unless its been raining really heavily for a few days. There is a lot of big rivers running out in the fjord. All the rivers brings a lot of sediments with them that might cause the water to become a bit more cloudy. A little 10-minute boat trip from Hindrum Fjordsenter offers fine deep-water corals at 20-25 meters deep. There are also opportunities for wreck diving close to the fjordsenter. What To Expect Onboard: This 17-foot model "Oyen" is equipped with a 30hp outboard, fish finder, GPS and chart-plotter. This configuration is great for teams of 3 – 4 people. To maintain the best conditions for operating and handling the boat will we however not recommend more than 3 – 4 persons in the boat at any given time. Depending of course on how big each person is. Welcome you to Hindrum Fjordsenter. All our boats are equipped with sounder, GPS and chart plotter. We got boats with following configuration: 20ft / 60Hp... 17ft / 30hp... 16.5ft / 25Hp. All cabins and sea houses got hotel standard with a fantastic panorama fjord view. If you like to go fishing we got everything you need for your fishing adventure. We also rent out climbing gear for Munkstigen via ferrata climbing path.

efore you sign the rental agreement for the boat its important that you read and understand all the requirements, and information about the specific boat. After that, you have to pay a deposit of 6000 SEK. The deposit is for covering potential damages to the propeller etc. Please note that a Norwegian boat license or valid qualification certificate is required to steer a Norwegian boat that is longer than 8 meters (26.25 feet), or has a engine of more than 25 HP / 19 kW.(only required for persons born after 1980). Before you return the boat is important that the boat is cleaned 100% and the gasoline tank filled up or exchanged. If you rent the boat by the hour, the gas is included. We will perform an inspection on the boat before the damage deposit is paid back. On the inspection, we check gas, propeller and the overall condition of the boat. The best way to clean the boat is to use warm soapy water and a large brush and scrub the dirty surface. After you are done scrubbing, rinse with cold water. We got all the cleaning supplies needed, which you can borrow at no charge. Water hoses for cleaning are located both at the pier at the ford-center and at the dock in the marina.
