Fuel & Captain Included in Price! Enjoy a scenic cruise through the Ky River Palisades between the historic Fort Boonesboro and Valley View Ferry. Meet your Captain at Three Trees Canoe, Kayak, & Campground where there are parking and restroom facilities. You can choose how you’d like to spend to your time such as: - Bring a picnic or grab a carry-out order from Waterfront Grill next door to the campground. We have removable tables and a sink for hand-washing. You are welcome to bring a cooler and your favorite beverages. - If you have a valid Ky fishing license, you can bring your pole and cast a line. We can also bring some extra poles and bait with advance notice. - We have two kayak/SUP hangers on the boat if you want to paddle up any of the tributaries. You can bring your own or rent our two inflatable tandem kayaks in advance. - Depending on the water level, we can anchor off at our favorite swimming spot for a refreshing dip. Some of the highlights of this section of river include the Lock and Dam at Fort Boonesboro, an active rock quarry (can be dusty during business hours), limestone cliffs with caves, an ironside sternwheel shipwreck (the Brooklyn), two nature preserves, a heron rookery, and the Valley View Ferry – the oldest continuously running ferry operation since 1785. If you want to cruise the entire 19-mile length between the Fort and the Ferry, you’ll want to plan for a 6-hour excursion (we have an onboard privy available for LIQUID deposits). We want this trip to be enjoyable for YOU so we can cater to your needs (within reason) – just let us know what your ideal experience would include. Please keep in mind that we are at the mercy of the river so it might not be possible to participate in certain activities if the water conditions are less than ideal. If you want to book outside our listed availability schedule, just contact us and we will do our best to accommodate your request. Guests that also book select lodging with us get a discount on boat rides!

You’ll get directions to the departure location when you make a booking.
Full refund up to 7 days prior.
If WE need to cancel for any reason, you will be refunded 100%. If YOU need to cancel: - Free cancellations until 7 days before the booking start time. - 50% refund for cancellations between 4-7 days before the booking start time. - Cancellations within 3 days of the booking start time are non-refundable. What about bad weather? If your boat guide determines that weather or water conditions are too dangerous, or if the boat is having mechanical issues and we need to cancel, you get 100% of your reservation cost refunded. We typically follow the guidance of the experienced crew of the Valley View Ferry. If they shut down due to high water or bad weather, we do the same. Please note that light rain may or may not be cause for us to cancel and other factors such as wind and temperature will be considered. Short, pop-up thunderstorms are typical during the summer and we will generally wait them out. If the guide determines the weather to be suitable enough for boating, but YOU choose to cancel, then the regular cancelation policy will apply. If the trip has to be cut short due to weather, dangerous water conditions, or mechanical issues, then the reservation fee will be prorated. If the trip is cut short due to passenger issues such as illness, inebriation, or other personal factors, no refund will be issued. LATE ARRIVAL/NO SHOW Your Captain will wait a maximum of 20 minutes for late arrivals. That time will NOT be added to the end of your trip (ex: you show up 15 minutes late for a 2 hour boat ride, then your boat ride will only last 1 hour and 45 minutes to compensate). We suggest arriving to the dock at least 15 minutes before departure so that you have time to use the restroom, get your life jackets, and load your belongings. No shows will be charged the full amount.
