Captain Optional
Spend the day on this beautiful 22 ft Ranger 22 to get a sailing lesson or just to enjoy the sail. Captain is optional but highly recommended and the boat has maximum 4 person capacity (3 with a captain) but the optimal is 2 with a captain I am seasoned USCG licensed Captain and will be happy to teach you the basics of sailing or improve your skills. Bare boat (without captain) is possible only for seasoned sailors who can provide their sailing resume and have experience on similar class boats. Rates: • 2 hours $240 • 3 hours $360 with or without the captain. The optimal time is 2-3 hours. Weekends are 30% extra fee Please make a reservations at least few days in advance - usually I can't accommodate the same day requests Because of small size of the boat and risks involved I can't accommodate little kids (5 years and younger). Older then 5 years is fine but the kids should wear live jackets all the time.

Ben was an awesome captain and a pleasure to be around during our two-hour trip. His boat is the perfect setting for a romantic date night, and I highly recommend experiencing the sunset on board, the views were absolutely amazing!

Had a great outing on a windy day, learning the details of the boat and watching the beautiful Chicago skyline from the best vantage point around. Ben was a great captain and provided a great sense of confidence and enthusiasm.

It was the perfect experience! Right from the beginning, I began steering, pulling the halyard and raising the main sail. I learned the basics easily and Ben is great to talk to because of his years of experience and pleasant demeanor. I very much enjoyed my time and even more so am happy to have learned so much so quickly. I highly recommend this for anyone trying to see what sailing is all about!

Hi, I am Ben, USCG licensed "six pack" captain with 15 year sailing experience. I am an owner of Ranger22 sailboat for the last 10 years and really enjoy sails around downtown Chicago I am also in a racing team for 40ft J120 boat and was a crew member raced to Mac in 2019 I myself chartered boats in Caribbean (British Virgin Islands) I am excited to be a part of the GetMyBoat movement in making boats more accessible and affordable to others.
