The Stand-Up Paddle or "SUP" is the modern surfing ink! It was the Polynesian kings who were the first to practice the stand up paddle on huge planks carved from tree trunks and a paddle. In the 1940s, Duke Kahanamoku (former swimmer and surfer) and the Beach Boys of Waikiki in Hawaii used these boards to take pictures of tourists who came surfing in the waves. 
 
In the year 2000, Laird Hamilton (surfing in Hawaii) and Dave Kalama (surfer) updated the discipline by using paddle to talk on days without waves and little by little went into the big waves. The stand-up paddle also has other uses: fitness, fishing, river descent, friendly toy for the family...
