This fresh water makes for a perfect ecosystem for fresh water fish, but also the areas “wildness” makes morning sunrises a sight to behold when you head out get your morning catch! While fishing this area you will find the perfect coves for anchoring surrounded by the beauty of the pink granite rock. This fisherman’s dream and can become a reality on a "Dream Seaker" fishing boat. Lake Huron, second largest of the Great Lakes of North America, bounded on the west by Michigan (U.S.) and on the north and east by Ontario (Can.). The lake’s depths also has its mysteries, and Ojibway (indigenous tribe of this area) legends tell of the water monster "Mishebeshu" (great lynx), who is said to have an underwater den near the mouth of the Serpent River that flows into Lake Huron. These depths may be the inspiration for the areas obscurities, but what is not a mystery is why this ecosystem is great for fishing. The southern part of the lake near Manitoulin Island is the largest freshwater island in the world, and the lake itself is the 5th largest freshwater lake in the world. The depth of this lake has given rise to many mysteries, but why these depths make for great fishing is no mystery. The lake is 206 mi long from northwest to the southeast, and its maximum width is 183 mi. and is a great place for lake trout, whitefish, and walleyes, with steelhead, pink salmon, and Atlantic salmon all showing up at different ports at different times of the year. We are seeing many more native Chinook Salmon and Atlantic salmon. The crystal clear water makes for leaner, better tasting Lake Trout. Fishing Seasons • Atlantic Salmon, Brown Trout and Lake Trout can be caught from May – October • Best months for Chinook are June – October • Coho start to show up in July • In June we have nice Steel head fishing and then again in the September - October when they run into the rivers What To Expect Onboard: The "Dream Seaker" is a 27 feet 2003 model.
