Because the put-in is just above the first series of rapids, it starts off with a rush as we navigate the Frenchmans, Locomotive and Snapper sections. The middle section is wonderfully scenic and we get time to marvel at the Spa and mineral water tasting halls built during the later part of the 19th century when Scuol-Tarasp-Vulpera was one of the most poular Spa regions in Europe. The run starts in the village of Susch some 20 kilometers upstream from Scuol. Initially the rafting takes us through one of the most picturesque alpine valleys in Europe. For the first 5 kilometers we pass by the villages of Lavin, Giarsun and Guarda, and below the towering peaks of Piz Linard and Mezdi, running a series of small but increasingly tricky rapids until we arrive at Giarsun. Thereafter the river bed steepens, the valley walls narrow, and the river flows into the Giarsun Gorge. From now on the rapids follow one another in quick succession as the rivers falls through a series of narrowing drops. While the Inn lays claim to some of the best white-water in Europe, it also has some calmer sections where we can offer trips that are safe for children as young as 8. (young children must be at least 1.2m tall before they can go rafting) The family trips are run on the Scuol section. Starting some 4 kilometers above Scuol, we raft 5 kilometers along the valley before finishing under the ancient wooden bridge in the old part of Scuol. We run this trip for the children and families, so the emphasis is on fun and safety in and on the water. The rapids are small (but exciting for the kids), and on the way we let the children jump from a small rock outcrop into the river and have a swim around. • Departure Time: 10:20am • Included: All personal rafting equipment, transport and après raft • Minimum Age: 8 years • Season Duration: 10 May to 29 September, 2015 • Cost: from CHF 55.00 per person If you have any questions, we can answer those through GetMyBoat’s messaging platform before you pay.
