Enjoy Port Elizabeth, South Africa by boat! With her wide and spacious catamaran configuration, Stampede is a 38ft power catamaran and the ultimate in practical comfort, quiet efficiency and eco friendliness when it comes to boating. With capacity for twelve passengers, this SAMSA accredited vessel is unique to Port Elizabeth and offers a spacious, stable and comfortable cruise experience with a proven safety record. The vessel has recently been re-fitted with new components, an on-board toilet and two new Yamaha four stroke Outboards to ensure the most enjoyable boating experience possible. Cruise: • Nearby Island Cruise: The Nearby Island Cruise is about 3,5 - 4 hours long & we go to the three nearby islands, St Croix, Brenton & Jahleel. This is a morning cruise with departure at 08.30 am returning before 12.30 pm. This is particularly nice for nature lovers as we will definitely see African Penguins - the largest existing colony of these Penguins are on these islands. There is also a good chance of spotting Dolphins and a variety of other marine wild life. Price: 900 ZAR per person • Waterfront Cruise: The Waterfront Cruise is 1,5 to 2 hours long & we go from the PE harbour along the beachfront past all the main beaches (Kings Beach, Humewood, Hobie Beach & Summerstrand) and on to the Cape Recife Lighthouse & return along a similar route. Usual timing for the Waterfront cruise is 4 – 6 pm, but we are very flexible and can also do a morning cruise depending on the size of your group. Price: 400 ZAR per person • Oyster Cruise: The Oyster Cruise departs early evening (4 pm in Winter) from the Algoa Bay Yacht Club and is ideally suited for groups of up to 12 people. Exiting the Port Elizabeth harbour we take a slow cruise to The Knysna Oyster Co’s Zwembesi Oyster Farm situated in the relatively calm water north of the harbor. We then conduct a brief boat tour of the Oyster Farm, explaining various factors relating generally to oysters and to oyster cultivation and more specifically to the Port Elizabeth based Zwembesi Farm operation itself. We then take a slow cruise across to the main Port Elizabeth beachfront. On the way Guests will be treated to six large ‘topless’ oysters with the appropriate trimmings to enjoy while they relax and take in our beautiful beaches and beachfront from the comfort of our 38 ft catamaran Stampede. Guests are requested to bring along drinks of their choice to compliment the oysters. The total cruise will last about 1,5 hours. Following the cruise you may consider simply stepping off Stampede at the dock and walking directly into The Chart room restaurant situated at the Algoa Bay Yacht Club. They have a comprehensive menu with both excellent food and service together with a wonderful view over the Marina – a real nautical ambiance.
