Sydney Sportfishing Adventures with Captain Dan
Looking for a guided fishing charter in Sydney Harbour and the Hawkesbury River? You're at the right place! We offer on water guiding and tuition, full and half day lure, fly and live bait charters on Sydney Harbour and the Hawkesbury River aboard a custom sport fishing vessel for up to 3 people. Our rates start at $210 per person for a half day 5hr trip based on three anglers. Our clients will fish from a custom fitted, 5 meter, plate aluminium vessel named ‘Me & Jew’. The vessel is powered by a quiet 70 hp Yamaha outboard motor on the transom and an 80 lb bow mount Motorguide electric motor on the bow. The electric motor has the latest features available for holding the vessel in position when lure and fly casting. A sturdy pair of Cannon down riggers are fitted to help get baits and lures down to where the fish are holding and feeding. To find fish holding structure your guide Dan utilises his Lowrance HDS 9 Gen 3 sounder/fish finder and GPS unit to great effect and is more than happy to help clients better understand the finer points of reading sounders while on board. Because we operate in the estuaries it is rare to have to cancel charters due to large swells etc. on the odd occasion rain and wind will be the determining factor for postponing or cancelling a charter as it can make it quite uncomfortable in an open vessel. Dan will fish in most weather, but….. If the weather conditions are against us, postponing the trip to the next suitable date for both the client and the guide is OK. In circumstances where you are travelling from interstate or international destinations a refund can be arranged. If you are concerned please contact us discuss. What time do we start? Start times vary throughout the year. Most trips start at first light which in the summer months is 5 – 6 am and winter months 7 – 8 am.

Owner and guide, Dan started the company in late 2010. He wanted to work in the fishing industry where he was actually on the water most days, becoming a fishing guide was a logical solution. His aim is to help clients improve their catches by advancing their knowledge and angling techniques on individual target species like the mighty Mulloway (Jewfish), Kingfish, Bream, Flathead, Estuary Perch and Bass.
