Big Lagoon Kayak Tour in Ukiah, California

About This Kayak

Big Lagoon is 3.5 miles long, walled off from the power of the Pacific by a strip of sand 600-700 feet wide. The lagoon’s marshy habitat is an important rest stop for migratory birds on the Pacific flyway. Herds of Roosevelt Elk congregate in the marshy area around Maple Creek, and river otters play along the east shore. Porpoises, seals, sea lions, and whales can be seen from the beach. We'll paddle four to five miles, exploring this unique environment, launching from and returning to Big Lagoon County Park.
