Summer in Chicago is a special time. The sun is shining, Lake Michigan is bustling with activity, and everyone is out and about, enjoying patios along the riverfront and throughout the city. And one of the best ways to celebrate the season and embrace black excellence and its impact on the city is through participating in the iconic summer event — Black Yacht Weekend.

What is Black Yacht Weekend?

Black Yacht Weekend is a multi-day cultural celebration in Chicago, Illinois, typically over Juneteenth weekend. The event celebrates Black culture, community, connection, and elevated summer living against the iconic backdrop of Chicago’s skyline and Lake Michigan.

Originally launched to create space for Black professionals, creators, and entrepreneurs to gather, network, and enjoy amazing experiences, the event blends cultural pride with summer festivity and social engagement. It’s an adults-only event, with most of the festivities requiring participants to be 21+ to enjoy.
