Next toast with a glass of bubbly, and enjoy the next two hours cruising by scenic castles, old draw bridges, and 17th-century river estates with their tea domes and colorful gardens along the route. As your local skipper/guide spins tall tales of life along the river, you will get a good impression of the summer life of the wealthy merchants in the Dutch golden age. Next, enjoy a delicious 3-course dinner of your choice at a classy restaurant with a terrace at the river. Born and raised next to the river Vecht and living a long time n Amsterdam, I have extensive knowledge of the Vecht region and Amsterdam. I am also a licensed guideskipper on the canals from Amsterdam and started with Vecht River Tours in 2017.

We offer only guided tours for private parties (up to 4 persons). We offer your private party a seamless combination of a guided tour with a local guide by private car and boat including a tasty dinner, lunch or high tea. What can we expect to see during the tour and boat cruise? You can expect an off the beaten track tour by private car and boat along the Vecht river with her historical river estates and tearooms, castles, traditional windmills and industrial heritage. The banks of the Vecht river were favored by wealthy Golden age merchants to escape the bustle of Amsterdam. What are the language options for these tours? Your host/guide speaks the following languages: English, Dutch, German and Italian*. (* please notify us upfront if Italian) Can we tailor our private tour? Sure, we like specials!. One size doesn't fit all, so we are happy to modify the tour depending on your wishes. We can tailor the tour to a specific theme of your interest, like maybe the UNESCO Dutch defense water line, or maybe you want to visit the unique Morgan car museum, or maybe you want to follow the trail of your ancestors in this area. To give you an idea of what we can tailor: the times (possible throughout the day), the route by car and boat, the stops, the restaurant visit. If you, for example, want to visit a specific castle, or a windmill, or a typical local sightseeing, and/or skip the restaurant visit, we can arrange that. We have a selection of excellent local restaurants, each with a great combination of nice ambiance and tasty food, and each with a terrace at the riverside. You can compile your own multi-course menu. There is of course also a vegetarian option available. Please advise any specific dietary requirements at the time of booking.
