He combines his technical and interpersonal skills in order to provide a great experience to all anglers aboard his vessel. He is accompanied by Francis and Toc, both veteran anglers and sailors with over 15 years of fishing experience in Rodrigues. The Rodrigues island is famous for its sportfishing hotspots. Out here, the focus is on three productive fishing areas: the area around Rodrigues, East Bench, and Hawkins Bench. The crew offers both big game fishing and bottom fishing, as well as jigging, popping with live bait and more. Full Day Trip A full day of thrilling offshore action targeting hard-fighting species such as Blue and Black Marlin, Sailfish, Wahoo, Dorado, Tuna and many others. Trips include the use of quality Shimano equipment, live bait, lures, soft drinks, water, and snacks. 3 Days/2 Nights Trip - East Bench A 3 day / 2 night trip to the East Bench. Located 50 miles east, it is a huge structure that offers more than 2000 metres of altitude, spreads over a 100km2 area, and rises to 41 metres below the surface. The ocean currents in the area provide exciting fishing in this area. What To Expect Onboard: The boat “L’oiseau des îles II” is a 53’ D’Unienville powered by twin 500HP Yanmar engines. The vessel is outfitted with 3 cabins - 1 single and two bunk cabins, all with double beds. There’s a private restroom with shower, sink and marine toilets. The boat features a spacious lounge on board, as well as a well-equipped kitchen with sink, oven and a large icebox. Navigation-wise, the boat is outfitted with a radar and GPS, sounder, VHF radio and an autopilot. The boat also features extinguishers, life raft and life jackets, as well as a satellite phone. For fishing, mainly Shimano and Penn International rods and reels are utilized: the boat sports a single fighting chair as well as 2 outriggers, 2 electric downriggers, 2 tuna tubes, and all fishing gear is regularly maintained.
