Upon picking up the jet skis, we immediately noticed that they were not secured correctly on the trailer. The owner did step in to properly position them, but even after that, we had to stop several times during our drive to make sure they were stable. When we arrived, we also saw multiple dings, scrapes, and loose parts on the jet skis. The tub was missing life jackets, though the owner offered to get them to us before we reached the lake. Fortunately, we had brought our own, so it wasn’t a major issue. Once we got to the lake and launched the jet skis, it became clear that the trailer itself was in poor condition. The boards were misaligned, the tires were low, and overall it felt very worn down. While the jet skis ran well at first, only a few hours into the day, the front plastic piece of one ski completely fell off. We had noticed this piece was already loose at pickup and saw evidence that it had been re-screwed multiple times before. To avoid causing more damage, we ended up loading that ski back onto the trailer and were left with only one functional jet ski for the rest of the day. I reached out to the owner, and he was understanding about the situation. While the rental price was affordable, the entire experience was stressful. In the future, I’ll gladly pay more for newer equipment and a safer trailer to ensure a smoother, more relaxing day on the lake.
