Overnight Adventure for Two - MDR to Avalon (& Back)

Take off from Marina Del Rey for a romantic overnight stay in Avalon aboard the vessel "into the night" with your someone special... A typical two day, one night trip would depart Marina Del Rey in the morning around 6am to 7:30am, the crossing will take about 4 to 5 hours where you may see the PV Point & Lighthouse, dolphins & whales, &/or cruise the Catalina coastline... actual time & route depends on sea conditions. Upon arriving in Avalon harbor we will make our way to the assigned mooring where you will bring up the mooring line, tying off the bow & passing the line astern where I will come down to pull & tie the stern line. This is a boating experience... you didn't think you weren't going to get your hands at least a little dirty... did you? And I'll make sure you know how to handle the lines so you look like a pro out there. With any luck, it will be lunch time! I'll shuttle you ashore so you can walk around a little and grab a bite (I like the fish/shrimp/scallops & chips on the pier). When you finish lunch you can rent a golf cart and take a self-guided tour of Avalon, it takes about an hour and has several great photo spots along the way. After you return the cart you can walk around town, check out the shops, and pick out a place for dinner. When you're ready, I'll come pick you up and bring you back to the boat where there is a kayak for two if you still have the energy... otherwise you can relax on deck or in the cabin with a drink or two until it's time to get ready for dinner. Again I'll take you ashore for your romantic night out... the island is very pretty at night all lit up. When you're ready I'll bring you back to unwind, quiet hour for the boats starts at 10pm so it gets very chill, until bedtime where you will retire below deck in the "Captain's Suite" with a walk-around queen size bed and a private on-suite head/shower. In the morning, after your great night's sleep on the water, the harbor master usually wants us pushing off between 8am & 9am depending on how busy it is. Sometimes I can get a little more time without getting charged extra, so if you want to go ashore for breakfast you may need to get up a little early... I can say, as not-a-morning-person, breakfast at Jack's Country Kitchen is worth the effort. Once again it's time to depart... as we prepare to leave Avalon you will need to drop the line back into the water and we're underway for another 4 to 5 hour cruise back to Marina Del Rey. Upon arrival back in the slip you are free to hangout aboard until 3:30pm, have lunch... Obviously a two night stay means more time to hangout on deck, play in the water, explore Avalon, and grill & have meals aboard. You also have the option to arrive the evening before departure day if you want to spare yourself the early morning drive.
