Begin with an unforgettable coach trip into Skippers Canyon, famous for it's exciting cliff edges and gold mining history. Meet your river guide before beginning your white water rafting journey through the spectacular canyon. Rafting from Deep Creek over peaceful waters at first, you'll head towards the exhilarating rapids of the lower canyon.
The adrenaline pumps as you paddle Aftershock, Squeeze, Toilet, Oh Sh*t, Pinball and Jaws to name a few. Raft the 170m Oxenbridge Tunnel before shooting Cascade Rapid to complete your adventure. Before returning to Queenstown, enjoy a sauna and hot shower at Cavells Rafting Base.

You literally &lsquo;go with the flow&rsquo; and soak up the scenery along a beautiful stretch of the Kawarau River with the Remarkable Mountains as your backdrop. Float/paddle down this picturesque river in a raft or inflatable canoe with an experienced guide accompanying the trip while you take in the scenery and views.
Experience 7kms of a stretch of river that starts at the confluence of the Shotover and Kawarau Rivers and finishes at the historic Morven Ferry site where you are transferred back to town.

Guided Canoe & Raft Tours in Queenstown

Our unique trip takes around about 5.5hrs and is a combination of a sightseeing trip by bus or van (a 45 min drive into Skippers Canyon, one of the most scenic roads in NZ), and raft on the upper Shotover River.  The on-river trip is pretty gentle, we are only rafting on grade 1 & 2 rapids.  This means that any water that sloshes into the raft, does so without violence or force.  In fact, water confidence is not necessary.   We do stop along the way on the river and adults and kids who want to, can try the various rock jumps into the river, and swim in the river. 
The trip definitely falls into the “soft adventure” category, it is NOT your average SCARY raft trip that you would experience on higher graded sections of the river.  We are however the only rafting operator in Queenstown who takes children under 13 years on the Shotover.
Our trip takes 4.5 hours.
