We Can't Wait to Have You Aboard! Sailing Season April 1st though October 31st Sit back, relax and enjoy your sail aboard the 36' sloop Hurrah, as our licensed and very knowledgeable Captain takes you on a sailing tour of the east passage of Narragansett Bay. You will see many beautiful sights such as the former Kennedy estate - Hammersmith Farm, Clingstone, and the Rose Island Lighthouse. Unfortunately swimming is not an option for this vessel. Take the helm or just enjoy the ride as your trip takes you through Newport Harbor the sailing capital of the world, where you will see many beautiful sailboats, mega yachts, unique racing boats, and historic America's Cup sailboats. Our boat comfortably seats 6 adults in the cockpit and has a Bimini and dodger for those who prefer some shade. Feel free to bring a picnic lunch, champagne, or any refreshments you desire. Please no hard alcohol. We pick up right in downtown Newport at Perrotti Park across from the Brenton Hotel, so you can walk right on over! The address of the nearby Brenton Hotel is 31 Americas Cup Ave. Our Sailing season is April 1st through October 31st !

Captain Dave is awesome. He’s knowledgeable, accommodating, friendly and down to earth. My 5 friends and I had an amazing time sailing in Newport as part of a Bachelorette party, but we all agreed we would do it again any time because it was so fun! I’d highly recommend this experience to anyone!

David was amazing. He went above and beyond ensuring a smooth sail, pointing out key features and places, and getting us close to all of the action. Totally recommend

Our sail with David was great! Even though we had light winds, we still covered a lot of ground. David is very capable and knowledgeable, and he also knows a lot about the area and the maritime region. The boat is in very good condition and very roomy. We ended up with 4 guests and were very comfortable. We expect to sail again with David in the future.

The boat was beautiful, it was a wonderful experience, dont hesitate to book with Dave

Six of us took a lovely sail with Dave as our captain. We sailed out to listen to some of the Newport Jazz Festival and then took a turn around the area. We had so much fun, and Dave was great! He's friendly and knowledgeable about points of interest in the area. We will definitely sail with him on the Hurrah again. Thanks Dave!

David McCurdy has over four decades of sailing experience and is a licensed 100 ton near coastal Captain with a sailing endorsement. Learning to sail from his father at age 6, he has captained many boats of all sizes including Gleam and Northern Light two 12 meter America's Cup boats. Dave is also Captain for Classic Cruises and their 78' Schooner Madeleine and their 58' Rum Runner II. Spending a majority of his life in Newport, David's extensive local knowledge, where he also spent close to a decade as the Executive Director at the Rose Island Lighthouse, will add to your amazing adventure aboard Hurrah or First Light. There is a reason why Newport, Rhode Island has been named the sailing capital of the world. We would love the opportunity to show you around on your own private sailing charter!
