Stand Up Paddle Boarding (SUP) We are Cumbria’s first and only dedicated SUP provider, we provide Introductory lessons, hire and try before you buy service for those new to the sport. As well as instruction and group sessions for schools, colleges and social groups, equipment hire and equipment sales. Paddle boarding was brought to popular attention by Hawaiian surf legend Laird Hamilton and has gone through a massive growth period over the last 10 years. It is now one of the fastest growing sports in the UK. The boards look like surf boards and are paddled using a single blade paddle from a standing position. The simplicity and versatility of SUP mean they can be ridden on lakes, river and the sea. It’s easy to learn and great fun as well as being an excellent core muscle workout. If you haven’t tried it already then Stand up paddle boarding is a must do activity in the lake district. Introductory lesson and hire This is the essential package for those new to the sport. We provide an introduction to the board, equipment and getting started. The session last 2hrs and includes SUP safety, launching, paddling prone, kneeling and then standing we then move on to paddle strokes and turning techniques. It’s a great, fun session and will leave you wanting to get out there and practice your new skills.  “SUP to you” to get out there and do it.
