Day trip to Manjuyod Sandbar and Dolphin Watching in the Tañon Strait.  (MANJUYOD SANDBAR) The manjuyod sandbar is a pristine 7 kilometer stretch of premium white sand. It's an island towards the North Bais Bay in the Tañon Strait that emerges only during low tides. On the island, you can find native wooden houses built on stilts. The boat is temporarily anchored so that the guests can picnic, swim, sunbathe, and laze around, snorkel or scuba dive in the waters surrounding the sand bar. (DOLPHIN WATCHING) The Dolphin watching adventure starts with a cruise along Bais Bay then out to Tañon Strait, the natural habitat of several whale and dolphin species. Among the kinds of dolphins, you may encounter during the trip are pantropical spotted dolphins, bottlenose dolphins, and long-snouted spinner dolphins. Melon-headed whales, short-finned pilot whales, pygmy sperm whales, pygmy killer whales, and dwarf sperm whales are commonly found in the Tañon Strait too. Bais City is less than an hour away from the Dumaguete City airport. The Canibol Wharf in Bais Bay is the most convenient point of taking off to Tañon Strait. The best and most cost effective way is to organize a group and rent a van in Dumaguete to bring you to the Canibol Wharf. This will cost approximately P6,000. The Ceres bus will also get you there at around p80-100 per person and another P150 to take you to the Canibol Warf via tricycle. The rental boat that will take you out to the Strait costs between P2,500 to P6,000 depending on the number of people boarding.
