Guy has this way of making the entire experience feel effortless and exciting, whether you’re a total beginner or someone who’s been at it for years. From teaching the basics with real patience to creating an atmosphere that’s both laid-back and full of energy, he made it easy to fall in love with fishing. The way he explained the gear, read the water, and shared his stories made every moment out there on the water feel like something special. You can tell he truly loves what he does, and that kind of passion is contagious. I went in thinking this was just a one-time adventure, but now I’m already planning my next trip—and buying my own gear. Can’t thank Guy enough for turning what was supposed to be a relaxing weekend into the start of a lifelong obsession. If you’ve ever been on the fence about trying fishing, let Guy be the reason you dive in—you won’t regret it.

   We had an amazing time out on the water thanks to boat owner Breanna and Captain Mike! From the moment we arrived, everything was handled professionally and with such a warm, welcoming attitude. Breanna made the booking process smooth and stress-free, and Captain Mike was outstanding—friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly experienced. What stood out the most was how safe we felt the entire time. Captain Mike explained all the safety protocols before we left the dock, and throughout the trip, he stayed attentive and in control. It allowed us to fully relax and enjoy the experience, knowing we were in great hands. The boat was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. Whether you’re looking to cruise, swim, or just soak up the sun, this is the trip to book. We highly recommend Breanna and Captain Mike to anyone looking for a safe and unforgettable boating experience. We’ll definitely be back!

   We rented a boat in Chicago yesterday for my sister’s bachelorette party, and overall had a great time! First off, Max was an amazing captain — very friendly, helpful, and professional. He made us feel comfortable and ensured we had a smooth ride. The boat itself was clean, spacious, and had a nice downstairs area with a bathroom. We loved being able to lounge on the Lilly pad raft and enjoy the sunshine on the lake! That said, we were disappointed by the lack of transparency with the charges. Before the trip, we were not informed that a 20% automatic tip ($400) would be added on top of the nearly $3,000 we paid, which already included a $300 “service charge.” We had assumed that service charge was the gratuity. We fully intended to tip Max ourselves after the trip, but instead felt blindsided by the pre-added gratuity. The communication from both Get My Boat and the boat company could have been much clearer, and we were never provided with a full contract to review ahead of time. While we had fun and appreciated Max’s service, the surprise charges left us feeling taken advantage of. Transparency is key, and I hope the company addresses this for future customers.

   Jimmy’s boat was great and so was our captain! He was patient helped us out—the dock was towards the end of the harbor and he offered to drive closer to pick up so we wouldn’t need to walk so far with all our things! Thanks for a great experience!

   Amazing time on the lake and at the playpen! Perfect day and our captain was great! Keep in mind you have to plan to walk from the drop off area at 31st street harbor entrance, or wherever you park, and have a safety discussion before you leave so if get there 30 minutes early to walk from your car to the gate and get on board and settled to leave at your designated time.

   This was a great experience. I would DEFINITELY do it again and I highly recommend booking through Sophia. There was a party before us on the boat and the crew cleaned it up quickly and helped us get all our coolers and food and drinks on board. It was so great!!
