Kayak Rentals This is a fantastic choice for those wanting to explore Lake Wanaka by kayak independently or on your own agenda. It’s also a great choice for families! Popular places to explore by paddle include around the bay to Eely Point, that ‘famous Wanaka tree’, Waterfall creek and the favorite Ruby island! We offer both our New Zealand made, purpose built expedition kayaks. With all of our freedom kayaks and beach rentals you must bring a buddy if your intention is to paddle for more than 1 hour. The Mission We also offer 3-4 Self Guided Kayak Rental, your mission if you choose to accept it... To navigate your way around Lake Wanaka’s coastline returning to Roys Bay. You have a minimum two person team and a time limit of 3-4 hours. You will receive transport from Paddle Wanaka’s headquarters to your start point. You will be given all the necessary equipment and safety briefings to complete your journey. Good luck! “The Mission” operates from October 1 – April 30. All trips are weather dependent.
