KITE LESSONS Lesson 1 • Learn about safe wind directions and conditions for kiting • Kite spot and hazard assessment • Set up a trainer kite • Basic flying skills with trainer kite • Launch and land the trainer kite with an assistant • Walk and change direction while flying the trainer kite • Know the wind window • Setup an LEI (Leading Edge Inflatable 4 line kite) with depower system • Carry and handle the kite properly • Pre flight check of equipment and lines. • Pull quick release and activate leash (on land) • Understand the international communication signals for landing and launching • Assist with launch of an LEI kite • Control the LEI kite while attached to the harness • Understand the depower system • Practice some basic flying skills with the LEI kite • If the wind strength is suitable, and you're doing really well then you might get to try your first downwind body drag!  Lesson 2 • Independent setup of an LEI kite with supervision • Assist with launch of an LEI kite • Control the LEI kite attached to the harness • Water re-launch the LEI kite • Body drag downwind • Maintain correct kite position in the wind window • Change direction to the left and to the right while body dragging.  Lesson 3 • Continuation of session 2, downwind body drag, water re-launch etc • Walking upwind, controlling the kite with one hand • Upwind body drag with LEI kite to recover board • Enter and exit the same point while upwind body dragging   Lesson 4 • Theory of the water start; kite, board and body position, power stroke • Be able to put the board on your feet and maintain the correct position for water start • Water start in both directions • Come to a controlled stop • Determine the wind strength, direction and quality • Learn the right of way rules   Rates: • 6 hours: $265 • 9 hours: $390 • 2 hours (Full package): $500/h • Private refresher: $50/h • Advanced freestyle or waves: $50/h • Our Kitesurfing lessons start from $125 for 3h, to $500 for the 12h full package.   If you have any questions, we can answer those through GetMyBoat’s messaging platform before you pay.
