Blue Dolphin is a 14.3 metre long triple-engine speedboat which is new, smooth, comfortable and fast. She takes up to 16 divers or 24 snorkellers. Children are also welcome aboard. Unlike many Similan and Surin day trip boats, diving equipment and national park fees are included in the price, so there are no nasty surprises. Those who have their own diving gear, and snorkellers & children receive good discounts, too. Free pick up from Khao Lak hotels and resorts, as well as drop off after the trip, are included in these friendly, yet professional day trips from Khao Lak. Blue Dolphin sails from Ban Namkhem pier, just a short drive north from Khao Lak resorts and the dive center. Powered by three Honda 225hp 4-stroke motors, the journey is smooth, fast, quiet and without odours or fumes. The top speed is in excess of 40 knots, but safety is of prime importance, and speed is therefore governed by the conditions on the day. There’s plenty of shelter from the sun or any rain, as well as a comfortable outdoor seating area for those who want to top up their tan or look out for jumping dolphins on the way out there or back. Each day of the week offers something different on Blue Dolphin, and she visits the world-famous Richelieu Rock three times a week. Those who want to dive on consecutive days will be able to experience various dive sites, instead of the same thing again. The Similan Islands are fantastic. I am excited to be a part of the GetMyBoat movement in making boats more accessible and affordable to others. I hope to get out on the water more and help boating grow.
