LEARN TO KAYAK COURSES OFFERED Next Course Dates: Quick Start Kayaking / BASIC SKILLS STARTER - Dec 5, 2015 Learn the basic skills that you need to maneuver your kayak in flatwater around the lake or down the river. A 1.5 hour program that goes over all the basic knowledge and things you need to know about your craft, and then teaches you the skills you need get around in style. Taught by some of Australia's top paddlers. All styles of craft are welcome. Saturday mornings - $45.00 with own gear, $65.00 with gear hire. We also offer Guided Kayak Tour. Family Whitewater Tour - $65 per person. Group rates available. Take our double kayaks from Jumping Creek reserve down to Warrandyte Bridge and experience the exhilaration of running the rivers rapids on the way. This stretch of river is an easy grade 1-11 and is loads of fun with your tour guide. Great trip for those that want a little more excitement. Includes Morning Tea. Available most weekends Koala / Wildlife Tour - $65 per person. Group rates available. Take double kayaks from Warrandyte down to Pound bend on a guided tour and enjoy the tranquility of the urban Yarra Park bush lands. You can count koalas on the way as they sleep in the tree tops, and see kangaroos and wallabys. Enjoy the easy grade 1 trip down whitewater and finish with morning tea. 2 hr trip, no experience necessary. Ages 8 and up. Available most weekends SAFETY HINTS - Do not paddle alone - Always wear your PFD (life jacket) when in a boat - Always inspect rapids or dangerous areas before-hand - Wear sensible clothing according to the season - Wear Sturdy footwear such as neoprene boots or runners - Do not paddle in waters above your standard - Lift, do not drag craft over rocks and gravel areas - Research your trip before you go!Purchase "PADDLE EASTERN AUSTRALIA" for paddle destinations. Class Of Craft Canoes, sit on tops, recreational, whitewater and sea kayaks are available, although there is no guarantee on specific models available for hire. Collection Boats to be hired are collected from the shop address Payment of hire fees will occur before goods are taken from the premises, and customers accept, upon payment of the fees, the conditions listed here. Conditions All craft and gear is maintained at a suitable and safe standard. Customers accept that craft and gear be returned in the same condition, clean and undamaged, and that goods not fitting this description may incur a further cleaning and maintenance charge. Other charges are listed under Liability deposit heading. We do not accept any liability for unsuitable use of craft or gear, nor do they accept liability for any use of craft or gear beyond the hirers capability. Cancellations No refunds for cancellations but a credit (valid for 6 months) will be issued from initial scheduled pick up date. We have the right to cancel any hire if we deem conditions unsafe in this instance a full refund will be given. Inclusions The hire fee includes craft, paddles, and PFD (life jacket). Extra accessories are available at a further charge. For booking to be confirmed full payment is required prior to hire. Liability Deposit A liability deposit for all hires is required. The information must be left upon collection of hire equipment, regardless of the length of hire period. All payments must be made in full before gear is taken. The onus is on the hirer to treat all craft and accessories with respect and responsibility. Damage and/or loss of goods will be assessed upon return and the appropriate amount will be charged to the hirer. Should the equipment not be returned due to loss or sustain severe damage the hirer must pay full replacement costs. A Drivers Licence is also required for presentation prior to goods leaving the premise. Cleaning Deposit A $50 cash deposit for each craft is to be left prior to hire. Upon return of clean craft and hire items the deposit will be returned to the hirer. if items are not returned clean the hirer will forfeit the deposit.
