RAFTING The Pacuare River is ranked among the top five rivers in the world for great rafting according to National Geographic. This 18-mile one day run includes a total of 52 rapids. Few rivers in the world can offer you so many. The whole day adventure begins picking you up at your hotel in Cahuita at 6:50am. From there you will travel to the Exploration Center in Siquirres where your luggage will be stored in a secure area while you eat a delicious breakfast. After breakfast you will ride 30 minutes to your starting point in the river. Along the way you will receive the do´s and don'ts while you are rafting. The equipment (including helmet, life vest and paddle) and the rafts will be awaiting you. Before starting you will have a short practice session in your raft, listening to and following commands from your guide. From the starting point you will spend 4 hours on the river with 1-hour stop for lunch along the river. You will end where you began at the Exploration Center where you can take a shower and change, enjoy the gardens and terrace while having a beer or two and talking with your new friends about the great adventure you just shared. After collecting your luggage, you will board the appropriate shuttle to your next destination being Puerto Viejo/Cahuita, La Fortuna or San José. Arrival time to Cahuita: 4:30-5pm.
