Type of Experiences:

Scuba Diving Trip to South East Florida Reef.

Here's the top 5 Reasons to Choose Pompano Beach & Fort Lauderdale

1. Biodiversity - South Florida reefs are teaming with tropical fish, the same species seen throughout the Caribbean. You may also see larger pelagic species that migrate and different times of the year.
2. Dive Conditions - Because of the close proximity of the Gulf Stream, SE Florida reefs are bathed in warm clear water year around.
3. Short Boat Rides - S. Florida's reef track begins less than a 1/4 mile offshore. You'll have made 2 dives before you could get to the keys!
4. Wreck Diving Capitol - The Gold Coast claims over 100 shipwrecks in all depth ranges. Greater Ft. Lauderdale has the most active Artificial Reef Program.
5. Drift Dives - Does the thought of lazily drifting along the reef with the current and surfacing when you are ready appeal to you?

What You Can Expect:

If you want to scuba dive or snorkeling from Palm Beach, Delray Beach, Boca Raton, Deerfield Beach, Pompano Beach, Ft. Lauderdale, Hollywood, Dania Beach and Miami, call South Florida Diving Headquarters. Our Dive Center can accommodate large groups with our spacious private charters, and even custom six pack charters on our smaller dive boat.

If you're by yourself, no problem. We can always hook you up with a buddy on one of our daily dive trips. We have something for all ages & skill levels. "You can dive, snorkel or watch from above all on the same boat."

Dive Site

The South East Florida Reef Tract extends from Miami northward to Palm Beach. Greater Ft. Lauderdale accounts for 23 miles in the middle of the tract and the largest number of dive sites, with over 100 reef and wreck sites. The Gulf Stream current often flows close to the shoreline bathing the coral reefs in clear, warm water. Hundreds of species of fish flourish along the coast. The reef tracts are very close to shore, no long boat rides here. You can even swim to some reefs from the beach. Scuba Diving and Snorkeling Greater Fort Lauderdale will surprise you!

Drift Diving

Most all our reefs and the prevailing currents run parallel to the shoreline. This combination creates a great opportunity to explore more reef area by drift diving. We start you out at one end of the reef and you lazily drift with the current to the other end where we pick you up.

What to Expect Onboard:

The Safari Diver is a 34 ft. Crusader equipped with full stand up bathroom and cabin area, walk around cabin for easy access to seating on the bow and a walk thru transom with a large platform. In addition she is faster, has twice as much room, accommodates 12 divers and crew and is very stable. This boat is fantastic for small groups and private charters. The Safari is a favorite among Tech divers because the platform is very close to the water.

When to Arrive

The trip times indicate when the boats leave the docks. Please arrive 30-45 minutes prior to trip time. This gives customers time to check in and gear up.

Snorkeler/Boat Rider Checklist

• Reservations are not required but recommended to assure your space on the boat.
• The tour time is when the boats leave the docks. Please arrive at least 45-60 minutes prior to arrival so that we may leave the docks on time. This gives ample time to insure everyone has time to check-in and gear up.
• Don't forget your directions to our location.
• Remember if your are snorkeling and do not have your own gear the price for mask, fins, and snorkel are separate rate.
• Will you need a wetsuit? During warm summer months you will not need a wetsuit. The warm Atlantic temperatures are in the 80's during summer! Coming during winter? No worries, we have wetsuits for the cooler mid 70's Atlantic temperatures too.
• Remember to wear your bathing suit under your clothing. We have limited space for those who need to change. This will also help us leave the docks on time.
• Towels, sunscreen, sunglasses, and Chapstick are all recommended. We want you to have a good time in the sun!
• If you are bringing items on board that you do not want to get wet such as phones, books, clothes, etc please place them in a dry bag. We do have dry bins that you may put them in as well.
• Are you worried about getting sea sick? Even though the boat rides are calm and enjoyable some guests take precaution and purchase motion sickness patches or pills. When and doubt take one so you will have a great time! We do offer them at our front desk. It's always a good idea to follow the directions on the packaging. Parking is available on-site at Fish City Marina.
• We do provide water from a water cooler as well as crackers. If you would like to bring a snack or lunch there are iced coolers located on board.
• All divers, snorkelers, and passengers will be required to sign a Snorkeling Liability Release or Diver Liability Release Waiver
• Don't forget to bring your camera to capture a memory of a lifetime. If you would like to purchase a disposable underwater camera we sell them at the front desk.

Diver's Checklist

• For those that are diving make sure you have your Open Water Diver Certification/(C-Card). If you will be diving one of our deeper wrecks please bring a higher certification card.
• You will need: Mask, fins, snorkel, BCD, regulator, weights, and tanks. If you do not have these items we have these items for rent here! Additional items you might want to bring along: dive computer if not diving with tables, lights, surface marker buoy, watch, underwater camera, whistle, and appropriate wetsuit/skin.
