LEARN TO KAYAK ON THE WORLDS GREATEST RIVER Warm water, sunshine, tropical islands, and the perfect introductory rapids. Our introduction day is sure to give you a memorable experience, off the tourist trail. The day is designed to teach you the skills that you need, even if you have never been in a kayak before, to go with one of our guides to the whitewater – a secluded part of Uganda unseen by most tourists. This is our most popular option – another tick on the worldwide bucket list. Your day with us consists of two parts; a calm water introduction and an afternoon river trip. From our base at Bujagali you will head together with a Kayak the Nile instructor to the lake. The flat water here provides the ideal environment for us to teach you the fundamentals of kayaking. You will be introduced to the key concepts – learning how to control your boat and where it goes, how to get out of your boat if you need to and the basic strokes and techniques. Comfortable with the morning, the afternoon is the main event. Taking a short drive from our store out through the villages, we rejoin the river at the first free-flowing section of the Nile. Using the skills that you learnt in the morning you, with your guide leading the way, will tackle your first rapid. Learn to kayak on the Nile, our most popular activity! For those looking to make the best use of their time and for more than a ‘tourist holiday activity’. - Low group to Kayak the Nile guide ratio – to maximise your learning - Impeccable safety record - No experience necessary, we teach you what you need to know - Full day guided instruction from a Kayak the Nile coach - Lunch providedCold drinks at the end of an exhausting day - Free access to the NRE Kampala – Jinja shuttle bus Only $115 per person ($140 one to one) If you have any questions, we can answer those through GetMyBoat’s messaging platform before you pay. We owned and operated by the husband and wife team of Sam and Emily. A business that runs among the tropical islands of the Nile River, our core goal is to introduce more people to the amazing sport of kayaking in this idyllic location. Before we became the owners here we travelled the world to kayak, whether that was to train and compete, (Emily has represented Great Britain 4 times in the Freestyle Kayaking World Championships while Sam is the British team coach) or to explore and coach on some of the most exciting rivers in the world. While solely running Kayak the Nilersquos sister company Love it Live it, we lived a nomadic life by the river and used kayaking as the excuse to explore and learn about the world. Drawn by the promise of big volume whitewater at the source of the worlds longest river, a relaxed lifestyle and the perfect eternal summerrs climate, itr unsurprising that we arrived in Uganda, and as Sam puts it l essence we just forgot to leaverd. We believe the Nile is one of the worldrs best rivers to teach on thanks to the warm water and spectacular scenery, and fabulous training features. Uganda has a firm grip on our hearts. Through Kayak the Nile we get the pleasure of showing people this amazing river for the first time and let them share the experiences that have kept us coming home to Jinja for the majority of the last 10 years.
