Frequently Asked Questions

You need a license for to lease (bareboat charter) boat?

The answer to this question varies depending on the country where you intend to lend the vessel. For example in Italy the boat license is not required to conduct, within 6 mn from the coast, boats under 10 m in length and with engine power below 30 kW. Above these limits a driver's license is required.

In most countries this kind of distinction does not exist and the nautical license is always required.

What kind of foods are served?

The menus are prepared according to your food preferences. On charter with crew , on board, professional chefs are excellent and can typically handle more diets and, with appropriately deferred requests replenish the galley adequately to prepare any dish you want.

What kind of activities there are to do on the boat?

Some boats are equipped for water sports such as snorkeling, scuba diving, water skiing, windsurfing, kayaking, fishing.

The equipment for water sports that the yacht has on board are usually included in the rental. Some activities such diving and paragliding requiring agreements with local sports centers are extra and can be arranged by your crew. It 'a good idea to always define your expectations in advance so that they can be regulated by the agreement.

The crew is always able to also advise land activities such as visits to cities or places of interest, hiking or whatever.

What kind of service is provided on board?

The ways of living the sea are many and it is important to choose a boat and a crew that fit precisely. If you want a complete rest cruise, it recommends a minimum crew of skipper and hostess, who deal entirely both of navigation and the preparation of meals and cleaning of common areas. If there is only the skipper on board, guests will be asked for a little help to both maneuvers in the kitchen and everyone will have to do their part to keep the boat in order. On luxury boat a crew of three or more persons will ensure a first class service on board, with daily tidying of the cabins and kitchen worthy of the best restaurants.

How we calculate the costs and expenses?

Rental costs vary anointing of the resort, the season, the number of guests, the distance traveled, of the days spent in ports, and offered the level of luxury. Prices will be reported as either "all inclusive" or "plus expenses."

All included

The charter rate includes use of the yacht, the captain and the crew, all meals and non-alcoholic drinks on board (from ship's bar standard), and the use of leisure facilities. The dives can have an additional quota, as well as the demand for wines and / or special liquor.

Plus expenses

A guideline often used for estimating costs is to add 25% to 35% of the cost of the basic rental. Taxes are not included in the basic fare. When you hire on a "plus expenses", the captain will keep you informed about the costs involved such as fuel, port charges and mooring, the costs of communications, supplies and consumption of wine and spirits. At the end of the rental it will be provided a detailed account.

How do I choose between charter and crewed charter without crew (bareboat)?

If you want to be free in the management of the boat and you want to lead it personally because you are in possession of a boat license, choose charter without crew. If you prefer that others dealing with cure all the tasks of the management of the boat, then opt for crewed charter, you will have captain, hostess and all the staff you want to guarantee you maximum comfort and relaxation during your holiday on board.

How to choose the right boat?

Choosing the most appropriate depends on many factors boat: the budget, the size and composition of the group, the nautical experience and not least the personal taste in aesthetics or preference for a particular site.

In general, the higher the level of desired comfort and greater must be the available budget. With the same number of cabins and passengers, the larger boats offer not only more surface area, but also greater headroom. Even the year of construction is a significant factor. Compared to a boat in an excellent state of repair but dated, the latest models are generally equipped with the most advanced techniques and solutions with better performance thanks to new engines.

Better a motorboat or a sailboat?

Sailing is suitable for those who love peace, he does not hurry and enjoy the journey as much as the arrival at destination. If you want to move faster and travel long distances, most of a motor boat. It should also be kept in mind that, at equal length, the motor boats are more spacious, but more expensive compared to single hull sailing boats both for the rental price for the fuel consumption.

You should always hire them for a week?

No. Many owners prefer to hire than a week. As a rule, but not granted, the daily price is a bit 'more than 1/6 of the weekly price, because for the operator this kind of flexibility is a cost. E', however, often can also book a short charter with some difficulty if related to the high season.
