Where better in the world than the West of Ireland to enjoy a fishing Holiday. The famous Lough Corrib, abundant with Salmon and wild brown trout and just 15 minutes up the road, Lough Mask, another spectacular wild brown Trout Lake. There are also many exceptional rivers in the area, the Clare and Robe rivers offer some excellent Salmon or evening Dry Fly fishing. Fishing: • Lough Corrib: Lough Corrib is a vast lake of 41,600 acres. It is many shallows and contains hundreds of islands. The water is very clear and it holds a good stock of trout which average about 1 1/2 lbs. Fish in double figures are often taken by trolling. • Lough Mask: Lough Mask is a large limestone lough of twenty-two thousand acres in the west of Ireland. It has an excellent stock of wild brown trout averaging over 1lb. Mask in comparison to its neighbour Corrib, hasn’t as many islands, is not as shallow, and therefore the fly hatches are later to start. • Lough Carra: Lough Carra, often referred to as “The Poor Relation” of it’s bigger neighbours Corrib and Mask, is a true beauty in appearance but also in the quality of its fishing. A smaller Lough of 4,000 acres it is divided into two parts; the front and the back lough. • Salmon & Seatrout Angling: Because of our ideal location sitting on the Galway, Mayo border we are within a short distance of some of the best Salmon and Sea Trout fishing in Ireland. • Pike Fishing: Just because the temperature has dropped and the trout are making their way to the spawning grounds, does not mean that you have to sit at home dreaming about the start of a new fishing season. We enjoy some fabulous fly-fishing all year round for pike. • Alternative Fishing: We are fortunate in our location here at Corrib Angling Services, that we have two of the premier brown trout rivers in the west of Ireland on our doorstep. The Robe river and the Clare River have an abundance of above average size trout.
