Route suggestions To help you get an idea of how far you can travel in the time you have, here's a selection of routes to and from our bases in this region. You don’t have to stop at all the places listed or follow the route exactly. So long as you return your boat to your end base by the date you've booked - you're free to enjoy your cruise however you like. For a comfortable pace, allowing you time to regularly stop and explore, we'd recommend an average of 2 - 4 hours cruising each day. Moor here and take a walk downtown to discover the flower-lined streets and the old romanesque chapel built in the 11th century. • Argens-Minervois Argens-Minervois is a beautiful little town, typical to the Minervois region. The village is clustered around a 14th century château and overlooks the canal and the river Aude. • Roubia Roubia is a charming little village with a beautiful parish church that is worth a visit. If you moor here, you might enjoy getting close to nature with a walk in the woods. • Paraza Paraza is a wonderful and typical town with colorful houses along the bank. If you walk around the village, you will most likely encounter the old abandoned windmill of Cantaranne. • Ventenac As you approach Ventenac, you will be struck by the site of the city's majestic Castle. Along the banks of the canal, you can taste wine, or even buy some. Ventenac is a picture-perfect canal side city to visit. • Le Somail Le Somail is a beautiful hamlet where you'll appreciate the beautiful old houses covered in ivy. It's a wonderful place to relax and take it all in. • Sallèles d'Aude Surrounded by a verdant forest, Salleles d'Aude is a charming and welcoming town where you will have the occasion to cycle or walk along the numerous paths. Enjoy the green forested landscapes in a quiet atmosphere on the outskirts, or try a meal in one of the good restaurants downtown. • Narbonne Once the most important city of Roman Gaul, Narbonne hosts many vestiges of the past and keeps them like treasures. Come here and visit the basilica Saint-Paul, the wonderful cathedral Saint-Just-et-Saint-Pasteur, and many others. Downtown, the old winding streets are just charming. • Carcassonne Discover the biggest and most beautiful medieval construction in all of Europe: the huge stronghold of Carcassonne, built in the 13th century. Explore it and learn its history. Stand on the huge fortified walls to admire the gorgeous views over the valley. • Trèbes Along the Canal du Midi, there is a pretty and welcoming town called Trèbes. Moor here to eat downtown in one of the good restaurants, or visit the church Saint-Etienne, built in the 14th century. What to Expect Onboard: Bow thrusters make maneuvering Royal Classique boat rentals easy and fun. Three super-private cabins with en-suite bathrooms are great for three couples! This canal boat rental is fully air-cooled for your comfort, and the generous saloon featuring a radio/CD player is built for entertaining family and friends in style! Starter Pack All you need for your first evening and first morning on board: olive oil, kitchen towels, aluminum foil, salt & pepper, fresh coffee, croissants (packet), butter, milk, sliced bread, sugar, jam, 1 packet of biscuits and everything that's in the Sundowner Pack. Please note: Grocery Packs must be ordered at least 7 days in advance of your departure date, otherwise availability cannot be guaranteed. • Bike Rental From collecting your morning baguette to exploring more of your cruising area– the vast majority of our customers rent bikes to take on board with them. Flat tow paths make for easy cycling, while for the more adventurous, your new and changing surroundings are great for exploring on two wheels. As well as our adult bikes, we also have children's bikes, tag-along bikes and child seats available to rent from most bases. You can also buy helmets at most bases if you forget to bring your own. For added peace of mind you can also purchase bike theft insurance. • Early boarding and late checkout Why not get more time on the water and book an Early Boarding and/or a Late check-out service. Early Boarding enables you to collect your boat between 11am - 12pm, or from 2pm on the first day (instead of 4pm). Late Check-out means you can return your boat by 12pm on the last day (instead of 9am). Please note: Owing to operational constraints, it sometimes may not be possible to offer this service. • Wifi A 3G Mini router, which uses SFR Mobile Broadband, provides internet access wherever there is a mobile phone signal. Each unit can have a maximum of five devices connected at any one time. Signal speeds can vary depending on location and local coverage. Download limit of 5GB (4000mb) per week. • Deck cushions Why not rent a pack of deck cushions for extra comfort while you cruise? They also double up as sunbathing mattresses! • Ecological cleaning pack Help us preserve the waterways for future enjoyment by purchasing a pack of eco-friendly cleaning products which come in an ecological cotton bag. The pack includes: Ecological disinfectant spray, ecological kitchen spray, washing-up liquid, sponge, box of matches. • Cleaning service After a relaxing vacation, you probably don’t want to spend your last evening cleaning the boat. So why not pre-book our cleaning service and let us take care of the final clean of your boat. Then all you have to do is wash the dishes and bag up your trash. • Special occasion gift basket If you are celebrating a special birthday or occasion, you can pre-order one of our beautifully presented gift baskets, full of local delicacies and regional specialties. It will be waiting for you on board when you arrive. • Bring your dog! A boating adventure is the perfect kind of vacation to take your four-legged friend on. If You Cancel Your Holiday Cancellation Terms: To cancel a reservation, the Renter should notify the Company in writing. Period before departure in which you notify the Company and Cancellation Penalty: More than 70 days prior to departure date: Deposit is non-refundable Between 70 and 43 days prior to departure date: 45% of the total holiday cost is non-refundable Between 42 and 15 days prior to departure date: 60% of the total holiday cost is non-refundable Between 14 days and departure date: 100% of the total holiday cost is non-refundable If You Change Your Booking If, after our confirmation invoice has been issued, you wish to change your travel arrangements in any way, for example your chosen departure date (in the same season only), destination or boat, we will do our utmost to make these changes but it may not always be possible. Any request for changes to be made must be in writing from the lead name or your travel agent. The price of your holiday may increase or decrease to reflect the changes requested by you. You will be asked to pay an administration charge of US$140 (more than 70 days prior to departure) or US$250 (between 70 and 15 days prior to departure) per booking amendment and any further cost we incur in making this alteration and any increase in the cost of your trip. Please note that no changes or rescheduling are permitted less than 14 days prior to departure. Please check whether your holiday insurance will cover any changes or increased costs resulting from a change. You should be aware that these costs could increase the closer to the departure date that changes are made and you should contact us as soon as possible.
