Why should I stay on the GetMyBoat website to handle payments?
Owners should accept all payments from their guests through the GetMyBoat website for several reasons:
a) you may be banned from the GetMyBoat website
b) boat rental insurance for your guests will be void
c) you can accumulate reviews from guests which help your search ranking and placement on the site.This means more exposure to new guests and more incoming reservation requests.
d) In the event that your guests do not show up at the rental or charter, you will be able to collect a partial or full refund for the reservation depending on your cancellation policy.
e) Ease of processing payment; you do not have to worry about fraud or issuing refunds to guests
How do I calculate my payout?
Your total payout total is your reservation price minus GetMyBoat’s 7% service fee. Information about your payouts can be seen in Your Account under Payout Method. Value-added tax (VAT) will be added to owners fees in applicable countries.
When do I get paid?
GetMyBoat will initiate a payout within 30 days after the reservation completion date. Depending on your bank, the funds may take additional time to enter your bank account. Funds may be delayed on weekend or holidays.
How does GetMyBoat process payments?
When an owner approves a reservation request, GetMyBoat will take the entire reservation fee up front and hold it until after the reservation has been completed. Once the reservation has been completed GetMyBoat will release your payout within 30 days. You must have your payout details enter to your account in order to receive the funds. If a currency conversion is needed, GetMyBoat will charge a 3% transaction fee.
Depending on your bank, the funds may take additional time to enter your bank account. Funds may be delayed on weekend or holidays.
What are owner service fees?
Owners will pay a 7% service fee which will be deducted from your reservation price before you get paid out. GetMyBoat’s service fee covers the cost to run the site and our customer support team.

I’m an owner. Can GetMyBoat send my payouts by international wire transfer, Western Union or PayPal?
No. Currently owners must use GetMyBoat’s payment processing system to receive payouts however, in the near future we will have more payout options.
If a guest request to pay outside the GetMyBoat platform please notify firstname.lastname@example.org as it violates GetMyBoat’s Terms of Service.
Do I have to refund my guests when they make a complaint?
It is at the discretion of GetMyBoat’s as to whether an owner will pay a guest a refund. If a guest makes a complaint, then GetMyBoat will gather more information from both parties and be the mediator. If deemed appropriate GetMyBoat will debit the owner account on the next reservation that is successfully completed through GetMyBoat.
Listings that are misrepresented or that are lacking promised amenities are subject to refunds.
How do I refund my guests?
If a reservation has already been completed and you would like to refund the guest, please contact email@example.com. Ten percent of the reservation price will be debited to the owner’s account on the next reservation that is successfully completed through GetMyBoat.
If a guest cancels before the reservation date you can refund beyond what your cancellation policy allows by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org.
For cancellations due to acts of God, owners should reschedule with the guest and update their listing availability. Notify email@example.com of the new reservation date.
