About This Fishing Charter

Come and enjoy the sights of Port Phillip Bay by boat! Hire “Bo Jangles” our 36ft fishing boat, for up to 12 people. Our rates start from $840 AUD minimum of 12 passengers.

The “Bo Jangles” is a 36' Randell. She is currently license to carry 12 passengers per trip. She has a new environmentally friendly toilet on board. Our vessel is equipped with all top quality certified safety equipment, it has some undercover seating available. The boat is also equipped with a depth sounder, fish finder and GPS.

Our trips are suitable for people above the  age of  5 years, and every level of fishing ability, from those just starting out to those who want a great time out on the water. Pets not permitted on vessel expect guide dogs.

Included in the price of the trip is the use of all our fishing gear, all your fish can be cleaned for you and packed in ice for the trip home.

A selection of  unlimited Tea, coffee, hot chocolate, lollies, soft drink, water and cookies are included for all passengers. 

The boat has both rod and cup holders available for your use.

Please note no skis to be brought on board, cooler bags welcome.

• Due to occupation health and safety children under 5 years are unable to come on the boat, as the boat is not suitable for children so young.

• Children prices are for children aged between 5-14 years, Adults price are for all person 15 years and over. For seniors price a seniors card must be produced in boarding the boat.

• All bookings are taken subject to suitable weather conditions. No fishing charter will go ahead if a Gale Weather warning has been issued. (Captains discretion on all other trips). Also trips are subject to having adequate passenger numbers to depart.

• All bookings will require at least one contact number (Must be a mobile phone number). 

• If a trip is cancelled due to weather your trip will be rescheduled at the earliest convenience to both parties. If trip is cancelled due to lack of numbers a refund will be done at the management’s discretion if a suitable alternative is not available.

• Please ensure that you notify us at least 24 hours in advance if the numbers of your party change. Failure to do so will result in you being charged the full price for the original booked number of passengers with no exceptions. If we know someone is unable to attend it gives us the chance to sell that position to someone else, so that you need not pay for that person(s). Extra passengers may not be able to be accommodated (subject to the captains discretion), please check with us should you wish to bring additional passengers to save us having to say no on the day as maximum numbers cannot be changed as boat is license to carry 12 passengers and there is no flexibility in this.

• All persons booked on to a charter must check in at the boat at least 30 minutes prior to the boats departure. During the summer period and weekends please allow plenty of time to travel to Rye, it is very busy on the Mornington Peninsula during these times, we would suggest that you arrive at least an hour before the boats departure to allow time for parking etc. Parking can be found in the Rye Pier car park (fees apply), the entrance to the boat ramp car park, and the car park next to the scout hall. Parking can also be found in area’s near the police station, Woolworth petrol station etc. The Boat will not wait for late passengers, it is your responsibility to arrive on time.

• All deposits must be made within 7 days of booking for a private charter. Failure to lodge a deposit will lead to a cancellation of the booking.

• Alcohol is permitted on board the boat, however it must be consumed in moderation. Any behavior we deem inappropriate, especially on private charters, will result in your charter being cut short and your group being returned to shore.

• Our fishing gear is for your use however if it is deliberately abused, damaged or lost overboard you will be charged a fee of $175.00. Please treat our equipment with the respect you would give your own gear. Also any damage to the boat will be charged to you should you damage it due to carelessness.

• Private charter deposits are only refundable if more than 7 clear days’ notice is given, cancellations due to weather on shorter notice, will be rescheduled at a time to suit both parties rather than refunded. (Some exemptions may apply in certain circumstances.)

• Any private charter that is cancelled due to the weather and not rescheduled will incur a $50.00 administration fee. The fee will be deducted from the deposit and the remainder of the deposit will be refunded.

• All mixed charter bookings require a minimum 24 hours notice for cancellation, for refunds to be issued. This is not negotiable if notice not given no exceptions.

• Should our staff not be treated with respect at all times, the skipper reserves the right to return any individuals to the nearest port with no refund being issued, this includes abuse and harassment.

• Drugs in any form will not be allowed on the boat. If a customer attempts to smoke or consume any illegal substances the skipper will immediately report this to the Marine Police and the trip will be immediately cancelled.

• All customers will be given a full safety and security brief at the start of each fishing trip as part of our duty of care, if you do not understand something then please ask us to repeat it. Customers need to highlight if they have a pre-existing medical condition and if need be discuss any medication that may be required in case of emergency. Customers will be asked to compete a liability release form if a condition is present. Failure to not declare a pre-existing medical condition will be considered negligent and we will take no responsibility should an incident arise.

• Fishing Licenses are required for Charter Boat fishing, we take no responsibility should you board our boat without one. Should we be checked and you do not have one it will be your responsibility to pay any fines applicable. Fishing Licenses can be purchased before boarding the boat from Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning.

• Online bookings takes payment at the time of you making a booking. Cancellation of these online bookings will require a minimum of 24 hours notice for a refund to occur. Any charters cancelled by us due to weather will either be rescheduled to a time agreeable by both parties or a refund will be issued at our discretion.
