Dive Highlights around Phi Phi Island

Shark Point Phi PHI ***

Location - This three star dive site is a small rocky outcrop about 8km southeast of Phi Phi Ley. It stands proud of the water by a mere 1m.

This easy dive follows an area of submerged rocks immediately northeast of the outcrop. These gently slope down northwards to sand at 18m. Divers can enjoy shoals of colorful Reef-Fish, including Blue-lined Snapper and Harlequin Sweet Lips, not to mention more static attractions like multicolored Plume Worms, Feather Stars and Crinoids. This location's name refers to the overwhelming presence of Leopard Sharks. There are also lots of Cuttlefish, Squid and Titan Triggerfish. Large Undulated and Golden Moray Eels, Spiny Lobsters and Octopuses attempt to obscure themselves within the many craggy holes and crevices.

Bida Nay / Bida Nog ***

Location - This two three star dive sites are two large outcrops directly south of Phi Phi Ley.

The prime two spots in the southwest section, where large rocks form a mountainous terrain, featuring walls that drop to elevated ledges. There are many Gorgonian Sea Fans, Sea Whips and colorful Soft Corals. Lots of Bearded Scorpion Fish disguise themselves amid the rocks, and various species of Lion Fish hover between. Varying sizes and species of colorful Parrotfish and Wrasse, along with large shoals of Moorish Idols, seem to be at all depths. The higher ledges have numerous Sea Anemones well populated by Clownfish. On top of all this you can very often find Leopard Sharks over the sand and various Blennies and Gobies. Even Manta Rays and Whale Sharks are often found here!

Garang Haeng ***

Location - This three star dive site is a submerged circular coral reef about 2km east of Phi Phi Ley.

It is one of the favorite dive sites around Phi Phi Island . It is famous for it's large shoals of Fish, Soft Corals, Hard Corals and there is a 99% chance to see Leopard Sharks!

Hin Dot ***

Location - This three star dive site is a submerged pinnacle off Koh Phi Phi Don's southwestern headlands.

This, conditions permitting, is a great multi-level dive. The pinnacle is dominated by three interesting shelves- at 3m, 12m and 15m. This provides ample and varied underwater scenery at all levels as you spiral upwards. There are good Soft Corals at all depths. The Hard Corals are represented by tubes and laminates. The deeper sctions of the walls have numerous oysters and calms clinging to, and embedded in, the craggy surface.

Many Reef Fish can be seen including Lunar Wrasse, Parrot Fish, Honeycomb Grouper, Spot Fin and Indian Lion Fish. Bearded Lion Fish lurk among the coralline-encrusted rocks awaiting their prey of tiny fish.

Reserving Day Trips & Courses

Reservations for courses and dive trips are made by 'time window or flexible booking period' and priority basis. We've done this to accommodate the relaxed atmosphere we know our customers enjoy during their holidays.Because of the unpredictable nature of travel we have found that people often made reservations, which when they arrived they wished to defer to the next day through travel fatigue or arrived earlier than expected and want to start immediately.

This means that if you, the customer, know you will be on Phi Phi island for example 8 days and know you will want to dive on 3 of those days, you may sim ply book 3 day trips for that period. The booking gives you the customer priority on any diving day trip you have booked that we; Phi Phi scuba, offer for that 8 day period. All you need to do to claim your place is inform us prior to 8pm on the day before you wish to dive at the latest. This can be done when you come in for your gear fitting if you are renting gear or by phone if you have your own gear.Special considerations for Courses .

Some courses are longer than others, it's worth looking at these considerations before choosing your time window. For Padi course reservations the same principle applies, however the course duration must be taken into account. For example PADI open water takes 3 to 4 days, so effectively when making a reservation you are reserving a 3 day period with our instructors inside the time window you are spending on phi phi.

To claim your place on your course you must inform us before 8pm prior to the day you wish to start on.
In the case of courses it is preferred that you come to the shop earlier to meet your instructor and complete your paper work.

Additional factors applied to new student divers in that before booking you must check through PADI's fit to dive medical questionnaire, this is part of the booking procedure.
