Communication was excellent from the team both prior to booking right up until and including being on the boat. I had many questions and Henry at Dreamdays was incredibly helpful, getting back to me promptly and was available by phone to help solve problems when on the boat. Unfortunately the fantastic first impressions that were given during the booking process were not met with the vessel or the crew onboard. We arrived 25 minutes before, as we had been told to arrive 20-30 minutes before booking time. We then proceeded to wait 15 minutes in the scorching sun of Dubai - the boat wasn't there and we weren't informed despite having communications just a couple of hours previously to let the crew know we would arrive then and require help with carrying things. The condition of the boat was fair - some upholstery inside was damaged, tiles chipped in the toilet, lounge bed on the bow was worn and cabins were obviously being used by the crew. I had checked beforehand that there was a bbq available and mentioned a couple of times that we planned to bbq for dinner. Upon deciding it was time to start cooking we were told by the captain the bbq wasn't working and instead they had an electric grill. On a boat with 18 guests, you can imagine how long it took to use a grill that fitted only 5 skewers at a time.... We weren't given any safety instructions or told location of life jackets if necessary. Although soft drinks were included, only a couple of cans were chilled in the fridge and none of the party were offered them or informed where to find them without asking. Would I say I enjoyed the trip on the boat? To be honest, probably not. Although having asked all questions and received answers beforehand, when actually on the boat the crew were opposing to everything. Although it worked out in the end, NOTHING that had been cleared beforehand was allowed to happen without them complaining and saying wasn't allowed for us to then have to escalate with Henry. Thanks to him for trying to sort everything for us and yes it worked out in the end but for what I hoped would be a wonderful surprise 40th birthday party for my husband, it turned to be overall too upsetting and too stressful for me to relax and celebrate with him. We were offered an extra 30 minutes on the boat to compensate for the delay in the beginning but we had ended up leaving over an hour late. Yes this delay was slightly longer as it was us who requested a replacement captain due to the poor attitude of the first however when paying almost 5000 dirhams, we shouldn't have had to spend 5 hours on the vessel with someone rude and obnoxious.
