Frequently Asked Questions

Can we sail in winter?

With a good jacket, gloves and hat, fun is guaranteed. Recommended brought a change of clothes and surf clothing if it is technically better, it will transpire and we will be more comfortable.

The Mediterranean Sea allows you to navigate throughout the year. Our mentality is that you can surf all year.

What do I have to do if I have a problem?

First of all, what can be defined as a problem? For us, this is when the boat cannot sail for reasons beyond our control, due to a mechanical breakdown, sail problems, electricity failure... As our modern fleet has official maintenance and logistic support, it is quite unlikely that this will happen.

As it is a Beneteau Fleet Only, we have a distribution network throughout the Mediterranean and, depending on the malfunction or problem you have, our effort will be focused on getting you sailing again as soon as possible.

Once resolved, these problems will be analysed from the call to the moment they are solved to find out whether they are the fault of the people who have chartered the boat. If they are, the cost of the repairs will have to be paid, in accordance with the contract.

You must bear in mind that, when you are sailing, it is not the same as having your car break down on the road. You need to have patience and wait to find the most beneficial and quickest option.

Which boat should I choose?

It depends on the number of people and how comfortably you want to travel. The advisable thing for long stays is not to exceed the number of people who can sleep in each cabin, always leaving the lounge free for daily living. If you want to get more out of the boat, it is adapted for this.

What should I wear for my boat trip?

Before anything else, you need to see how many days it is going to take and whether you are thinking of going into port. The main question is what to carry your luggage in – no rigid suitcases or cases with wheels. The most acceptable and most practical thing is a bag that can then be folded and stowed anywhere on the boat. Don't forget sunglasses, sun protection, a hat, sailing shoes (above all avoid black soles and heels), warm clothes (even in summer it always cools down when night falls), waterproof clothing, a sleeping bag (if you want), towels, a toilet bag... To spend an unforgettable time, don't forget your diving goggles, fins, a book and, above all, good music.

How far should I sail?

It all depends on the qualification you have and the crew plan. Wanting to spend more time in port is very different from anchoring wherever the wind takes you. It is a good idea to bear in mind that the average speed of sailing boats is, as a rule, 6 knots. This means that if we need to cover 60 miles we will take 10 hours. With our boats you can cover the whole Spanish coast, but bear in mind how long you are going to take to reach your destination and to come back. It must be remembered that if you have the leisure boat skipper certificate you cannot go more than 12 miles from the coast and, if you have the yacht skipper, you cannot go more than 60 miles offshore.

Can children go?

No problem. You'll have to consider their age and where they're going to sleep. It's a good idea to find them the cabin that moves least during the voyage. As it is a confined space for them, you are recommended to sail while they are asleep, or at night, or very early in the morning, to reach the place where you are going to spend the day as early as possible, prepare things and concern yourself only with having a good time. Seasickness can be prevented with tablets for children. If you have any doubts the best thing is to consult your pediatrician.

Can I charter the boat in another port?

Yes, no problem. You'll have to bear in mind the transport time and weather forecast. To ask for a quotation, contact us.

What should I do if I have to delay my arrival?

All good sailors need to know about the weather forecast for the coming days. It is not considered to be an excuse, and if you need to bring forward your return and sail to the arrival area, you will have to do just that. In high season, charters follow one another, so if you are late there will be penalties.

Which are the recommended routes?

It depends on the day. You can head for the Costa Brava; south, towards Las Columbetas, dropping anchor at Cambrils, or towards the Balearic Islands. You are advised to have an initial plan and alternatives in case the weather changes. Calculate the duration of the voyage, time for being at your destination and the return voyage. We can advise you and recommend routes, ports, restaurants... Ask us and we will surprise you.
