White Water Rafting Adventure On Ivalojoki River

We offer Rafting Trip in Kuusamo. There are series of seven grade I - III rapids on the Käylä - Juuma trip. The route begins in the small village of Käylä, soon reaching the Käyläkoski rapids (I). These rapids are an ideal introduction to white water rafting and give a taste of things to follow. The rapids give way to more quiet waters, which we cross with the help of an outboard engine to reach the Vähän- Käylä rapids (I). The third rapids to follow are twisting, s-shaped yet easy-going Vääräkoski rapids (I). Then follow the more demanding grade II rapids where you enjoy the increasing speed of faster flowing water. Last but by no means least are end the trip at Harjakoski rapids. Shooting these are grade III rapids you really feel the pulling strength of surging water. At the end of the trip we arrive in the Juuma camping center.
Duration: 2 hours Length of journey: 14 km (8,7 miles) Group size: Minimum 2 persons, maximum 50 persons Tour rating: Easy, suitable for families, age limit 5 years, 7 grade I-III rapids,  vertical drop 17 metres

Paddling is arranged by Indian canoes that take 2 - 3 passengers each. The route is easy and suitable for beginners as well. During this 4 hours trip you find a piece of wilderness and see it by different way from the water. Snacks and warm beverages are offered by open fire. During this comfortable and safe trip we reach places with great natural beauty and feel the spirit of the wilderness.
The trip is suitable for adults in normal health and children in all ages. All day safari with a break on islands and lunch is also available by price 119 Euros/adult.

Our Stand Up Paddling courses and guidelines are based on the Academy of Surfing Instructors (ASI) education. We update our knowledge and techniques regulary in a ASI credited school environment in Finland or abroad.
SUP ABC Flat Water Skills:
A SUP instructor will take you through the basics of the Stand up paddling techniques on flat water. After this SUP ABC you will be able to enjoy the paddling on your own in a safe manner on flat water. You will learn how to enter water safely, go on/off the board, different paddling techniques, how to turn, and how to be safe on water with a stand up paddling board. We will also learn how to fall safely into water and getting back on board. It is only water!
Weatherproof clothing is recommended, that it is suitable for swimming. Bring one set of extra clothes to change in and a towel. Wetsuits and shoes are available for renting.
SUP ABC is held at the Talvijärvi lake at the Ruka ski resort. Program is available also as a private lesson.

We have chosen RED Paddle co inflatable boards for their convenience, performance and most importantly quality. They are very suitable for the conditions that we face in our versatile Ruka-Kuusamo Water Wonder world.
